Beautiful sail away from Southampton. Embarkation not as chaotic as it looked. We were on board 1 hour before our allotted time and only waited 15-20 mins from arriving at the port.CPC car parking included in our cruise price - very efficient.

Thanks to the guys from the Glass House thread for recommending the ice cuvée- fabulous! Drinking one now as I await my small plates.

Impressed so far with my return to P&O will post when I can.

Cheers

Pat

We are on the same cruise as you Pink belle, maybe someone needs to advise the Glasshouse to order an extra large supply of the Peller ice cuvée on 8 Oct!

Perhaps Pat could let them know, it's becoming more popular thanks to Cruise Critic.:)

I had a sinking feeling over the weekend, when I ordered the Fizz, red and white wine flight, and was told it wasn't available due to them not having one of the wines. Thankfully it was the Liquid Velvet, and there was plenty of ice cuvée to go round.

You need to try the Greek wine they have there - it's called Wild Ferment. It's unusual, so be prepared, but Olly recommends it highly. I love it, and shall be drinking loads of it on Adonia in August so they had better have enough on board!

Have Fun!! :D

Thanks everyone.

A bit of a bumpy ride through the North Sea but here in Stavanger this morning it is beautifully sunny and with clear skies.

Last night was formal night, a mixed bag of formal attire but most men in DJs.

Dinner was 5 courses and my niece had the beef wellington which was very good, I had halibut, dry but tasty. I managed to get my port soaked Stilton with a glass of port to wash it down (just lbv), tasty but not quite as glorious as I remember! (Are things ever )

Lovely sail in this morning, just had breakfast via room service and off to see what Stavanger has to offer.

We really like the ship. It is understated but elegant. Staff are very attentive. We have a balcony cabin on Riviera desk port side aft, probably prefer a lower deck - maybe 7 or 8 but I chose it without considering sailing the North Sea!

Beds are very comfy, layout is excellent, I particularly like the walk in wardrobe and bathroom layout which doesn't impinge on the cabin itself.

Our cabin steward Suset has been great, she chilled our champagne on the first evening, got us champagne flutes, an ice bucket which she replenishes every day and a vase for our flowers. (Who needs a suite )

So far so very good. Haven't bothered with any shows yet but have enjoyed music in Manhatten and Malibar. Won money in the casino (3 card poker, just wish they had a hold em table) and have enjoyed the company on our dinner table.

Hi there! It is an unusual taste, but thanks for giving it a go.

Hoping we get your good weather in July when we're there on Arcadia!😊

We've just returned from the Canaries on the Azura and were fortunate enough to have Suset as our cabin steward. We were in cabin R630 and nothing was too much trouble for Suset. She always had a smile and a cheerful greeting whenever she saw us. She also arranged an ice bucket with flutes for us as well. We had a wonderful time on Azura and hope you do as well.

What a wonderful day today. Sailing into Olden was just spectacular and we were lucky enough to get a fabulous sunny morning too.

Walked around Olden (tiny) and sheltered from a small snow shower in the cafe near the old church.

In the afternoon we took the Brinksdale (?) glacier tour ncluding the troll car to within 15 mins of the glacier itself - you walk the rest. Just amazing scenery throughout. Lovely coffee and cakes served in the cafeteria afterwards.

Had booked Sindhu for our dinner this evening- wow! Could not fault it, just fabulous and worth every penny. If you haven't tried it yet, you really must.

Had an early night by relaxing on the balcony with our wine and watching the sunset at 10.30, still light now at 11.15.

Looking forward to Andalsnes tomorrow and maybe a swim in the Terrace pool before breakfast!

Think we are next door R702. She is great and love the cabin location.

We are thoroughly enjoying Azura too.

Sounds Perfect, Olden is a favourite port of mine.

I love an early morning swim, but tend to head to the Oasis Pool when it opens at 8am. Usually no one else about, you can ask the spa staff to turn on the infinity swim against the force gizmo.

Your posts are making me want to book another fjords cruise.

Didn't make my swim this morning but did enjoy another beautiful sail into port, Andalsnes. Gorgeous sunny day, not a cloud in the sky, we have been so lucky.

Walked into town but not a lot there. Decided against an excursion so spent the morning just relaxing on the balcony in the sunshine and enjoying the views. My niece is now off to the spa, I am off to lunch and may get my swim in this afternoon.

We had dinner in Sindhu last night, wow! Just amazing, food and service was top notch and I think my niece thought she had died and gone to heaven when she tasted the chocolate sphere.

Highly recommended.

Dee, we have been disappointed with Sindhu when we have been in the past, I thought the food tasted a bit bland.

Maybe I made the wrong choices, what would you recommend, we are boarding Azura this Sunday.

Hi John

I had the tandoori starters, my niece had ground beef flatbreads, main for me was beef tenderloin, niece had duck. None them are madras hot but very tasty.

Hope it's more to your liking next week.

Today has been amazing, sunbathing on deck (our balcony is in the shade ) and swimming in the Oasis pool (terrace pool closed as too much chlorine in it), never expected to be sunbathing on this cruise at's for sure. Fabulous weather.

Cheers

No Zumba classes I'm afraid. My niece was looking for something similar but nothing!

Enjoy your cruise.

Day in Bergen today, lovely, sunny and warm again- we have had amazing weather on this cruise.

Made the mistake of getting the hoho bus! Don't bother, quite expensive and utterly boring. Best to walk, much easier f you can. Views from the top of the funicular ride are good.

So final formal night tonight. Predicted to have some strong headwinds tonight and 4 metre swells but lovely again tomorrow on our last sea day.

Gosh, you have been lucky with the weather! Hope we have such good weather in July on Arcadia.

Have a great evening, and hope it's not too rough. :)

Decided to book Epicurean for the final night but we were very disappointed. Firstly the waitress put us off the wild boar saying it would be tough so we both chose steaks, medium rare, and they were tough as old boots. We sent them back and had duck which was good.

Desserts were ok but not amazing and same with starters (though my niece had the duck liver parfait and that was very good). The steak in the MDR was better.

No rough seas so arrived in Southampton refreshed and it was another lovely sunny day. Very impressed with disembarkation. Had breakfast, off the ship just after 08.30, luggage found immediately and CPC were fantastic. I was home by 2.30 (North Yorkshire) and that included dropping my niece off in Oxford and having a cup of coffee with her before I set off.

So my overall thoughts re P&O after 12 years -

impressed with the ship and staff as well as embarkation and disembarkation which were much smoother than before and much better than I expected (though I would still like to board earlier!)

Buffet was poor. Not great choices at although desserts were good and I enjoy the curries but Keema as an option?

The main dislike I had ...........

were the other passengers!

I have never met as many lift ditherers in all my cruises. Does it go up, or down! If I leave my finger on the button will the lift arrive faster, we'll go up even though we want to go down (or vice versa).

Mainly older Brits, as I knew it would be, I do prefer a more cosmopolitan crowd, and do they like to moan!

One couple asked if it was ok to join us at the Tamla evening, I said of course and then looked around to see lots of empty tables. Oh well we probably looked like fun! I asked how they were enjoying their cruise - wrong question!

They proceeded to whinge about everything and tell me how wonderful NCL were. We picked up our drinks, said goodnight and moved to another table - who needs that lol?

So overall a lovely cruise but I would look closer at the itinerary next time so it wasn't such an older crowd (I'm 66 so not because I'm ageist, honestly.)

Loved Glass House, Malibar and Planet Bar and enjoyed some lovely libations and good conversations.

Cheers

Pat
