djhsolara Posted February 22, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2018 It’s been years since we’ve been to either of these ports and we have no recollection of the shopping at these ports. Which would be the best for shopping...colognes, leather goods, linens, etc? Thank you!! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Rare ski ww Posted February 22, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2018 From what I can remember of our cruise to these two ports last year there is all kinds of shopping at both places. They both depend on tourists so lots of stores. We are not shoppers so we didn't buy anything. Allan
Krazy Kruizers Posted February 22, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 22, 2018 The only thing I really shop for is perfume and the only place I can get my Shalimar is in Grand Cayman.
Herfnerd Posted February 22, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 22, 2018 Both ports have good shopping according to my wife - just depends on what you are looking for. I'm only interested in the La Casa del Habano store in George Town, Grand Cayman
Rare kazu Posted February 22, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 22, 2018 Generally speaking, I found Grand Cayman more expensive (much more) than Cozumel. Grand Cayman's goods are mostly imported raising the cost.
Rare Tapi Posted February 22, 2018 #6 Share Posted February 22, 2018 Grand Cayman has more “high end” shopping than Cozumel which may be more appealing for those looking for specific, more upscale brands. While both ports do have their share of cheap souvenir stores, it seems like Cozumel has considerably more of these. SeaBands Posted February 22, 2018 #7 Share Posted February 22, 2018 Grand Cayman has very good liquor prices and that's about all.You will see why it's referred to as 2 grand Cayman. Cozumel is good for things Mexican and cheap drinks and food. I've bought some nice belts there.
cobalt206 Posted February 22, 2018 #8 Share Posted February 22, 2018 A friend of mine recently purchased a Breitling watch in Cozumel and received a 9% rebate from Cozumel. This is a subsidy worth taking advantage of if you make a large purchase.
YBACruiser Posted February 23, 2018 #9 Share Posted February 23, 2018 You can find good deals on high end watches in Grand Cayman. Also a favorite from there are those yummy Tortuga rum cakes. We leave space in our luggage every time we go to bring some back home. The little ones make great souvenirs to give away. :D Cozumel is good for leather goods, alcohol and silver jewelry. We don’t buy much there but they still have some good stuff. Happy Shopping!
Rare Keith1010 Posted February 23, 2018 #10 Share Posted February 23, 2018 Cozumel does have a lot more shopping then it had years ago and things like pottery are quite nice. I would not purchase silver. We used to enjoy shopping at Grand Cayman years ago for things like Waterford and even china. Now we find the prices to be high of items sold and not very appealing to us. Keith
doublebzz Posted February 23, 2018 #11 Share Posted February 23, 2018 There is hardly an item that can be bought in Caribbean ports that can't be bought cheaper in the U.S. particularly if you do some research on the internet. Cuban cigars excepted of course.

Except for the watch that I’m currently wearing [emoji6] Seriously, I had my eyes on a specific watch and I looked it up at local stores back home as well as online before going on our cruise. I did find it in Nassau for $500 less than the cheapest price I could find back home. And yes, it was from an authorized retailer and it came with a certificate of authenticity.
