Juneau Mendehall Glacier and Bobsled - Morning or Afternoon Tour Time?

RCCL offers a morning and afternoon time for the Mendenhall Glacier and Bobsled tour. Other than the early hour does one tour offer better chance of actually going due to fog, etc.? Since the tour is half-day or less are there things to do on our own during the rest of the day?

Dogsled.

If June , May and September recommend the afternoon. July and August suggest the morning.

Rats, I was hoping the Bobsled was for real. Bobsledding on a glacier sounds like fun!

North of Vancouver at Whistler they have bobsled rides on winter ice or summer wheels. They were closed when we went in spring but the even the track was something to see. sightcrr
