Cost of Enclave Regal

I believe the question is referring to The Enclave inside the Lotus Spa (the upgraded version of the thermal suite on the Royal-class ships) rather than the Retreat Pool Cabanas.

The cost of a pass for the length of the cruise should be in the neighborhood of $20/person/day. Could be creeping upward--or there may still be a couples rate. I don't recall day passes being available when I was on Royal in November. The $99 I paid for my five night cruise was well worth it.

The Enclave in the Retreat Pool is about $150 per day and can be purchased on daily basis. when we were on the Regal they were all occupied every day.

The Enclave is the indoor hydro pool and steam/sauna room on deck 5 inside the Lotus Spa . It has nothing to do with the Retreat Pool, or Sanctuary.

On our recent 10-night sailing, disembarked March 20, pass was $199 pp no couple/two person discount and had to be bought for whole cruise.

Question regarding the thermal stone lounges in the Enclave. I've heard that the hogs have now invaded the Enclave and are trying to reserve them, much like the pool chairs, for hours on end. Did you happen to see any of this?

Can you book the enclave online or is it one of those things that you need to run there as fast as you can when you board.

Has to be reserved onboard. I wouldn't say you have to run fast, but make it among your first stops..

We did not do the Enclave this past cruise, however when we did so in October/November, yes - there were chair hogs. It was really unbelievable . One couple had virtually set up camp on several occasions on two chairs with a full towel arrangement, robes, books, towel clamps, a wrap, flip flops, special drink cups - the works. I simply went out to the front desk on one occasion (which turned out to be the last time they did it), informed the staff that there was no one around in the Enclave but the chairs were covered and apparently someone had forgot their belongings (this time there literally was no one there, in any of the steam or saunas, in the pool, etc, except hubby and I for more than 30 minutes, which the staff could check as the number of wristbands is limited..) A couple staff members came in, saw the camp, started cracking up at how unbelievable it was, and then collected all the items, tossed the towels and ship's robes and held everything else at the front desk. Not sure what the folks did upon returning, but the rest of the cruise there was no camp set up... Truly unreal the lengths people will go..

Thanks for the reply. It amazes me at the lengths some people will go to. I'm hoping I do not experience it next year on the Sky.....

I waited until dinnertime where there would be no lines at the Spa reception desk. I imagine there has to be some cap on passes, but unlike The Sanctuary they can sell more passes than actual capacity of the room as there won't be 100% in attendance at any given time.

I had no problem finding a heated bed available. I saw the attendants remove towels from them each time they passed through. And unless you brought a thermal blanket to put under you it is impossible to camp out for an extended period--they are genuinely hot.

Now the two "soothing water beds" I had no chance. Taken up by readers and nappers every time. The fact they are in a little offset alcove right by the entrance is a bad design that encourages the first occupant of the day to just "move in". Struck me not so much as poolside chair-hogging but someone who found their favorite machine in the casino and never moved from it--not even when nature called. (So be suspicious if you find an empty bed with a big wet splotch...)

Never saw any hogging on the Regal last November. I went everyday and rarely saw anyone else. Those "water beds" were weird feeling....my favorites were the pool and steam/sauna rooms. I think the price for a 7 day cruise was $150pp. Well worth it, though.

reedprincess- I have found the same situation where people "set up shop" and hog the loungers. I feel there should be a limit that is enforced by the staff like a 30 min max. time. I have also paid for The Enclave and should be able to use all the amenities of the facility.

I’m the OP and here’s what I encountered. I was able to book one day, $39 for the day with in and out privileges. It was wonderful. I don’t think It would be worthwhile for the whole week, for me. There were no lounge hogs. People came and went...there were always at least two empty lounges at any given time. The only negative was brief. A couple got into the pool/spa and literally shouted at each other to hear themselves above the water noise. Thankfully they did not stay long.
