Group of 6 NYC lodging needed

Anyone sailed out of Manhattan with a group of 6 adults or more? We are looking for ideas as far as lodging. Its not till Dec of 19 so plenty of time to think about it. I really cant even book that far ahead yet, but just want some input on hotels in the area that may have family rooms for 6 adults. Im not sure of budget yet as we have 6 people splitting the cost hopefully. The cheaper the better.
