Aqua Bus vs. False Creek Ferries

Recommended Posts

Wondering about the differences between the two options? We will buy a day pass and the price of each is similar. We are asking for local advice as to which service might be more user-friendly for a tourist.:)

For us locals at one end of the Creek, FCF are now the clear choice after repricing their ticket books so Granville Island is now a 2 instead of 3 zone fare - saves us $2.50 RT compared to AB - but with a day pass, it's all about whether or not you want to visit the Maritime Museum/Museum of Vancouver/Space Centre...

If you do - FCF all the way as only they go beyond Burrard Bridge; if you don't, Aquabus have more boats, so more likely to be the next boat at a given dock (almost all are shared).

Also, only one allows bicycles, but I don't remember which, sorry.

Aquabus have the only RORO boats (wheelchairs, strollers and bikes can roll on and off their 'Cyqabus' format minicats) but FCF do allow bikes & strollers to be carried onboard if you can do so by yourself and they don't get in the way of other pax. Even full there's usually space for at least one, as the boats are generously sized for the small number of passengers (number of lifejackets is the restricting factor - they could easily fit another 6+ people on a 'full' boat if not for that).
