Baha Mar or Resort Day Pass?

We did end up going to the Baha Mar while in Nassau. Took the bus over and a cab back. I showed them my credentials and they were falling all over themselves to give me a site inspection. The rooms and the resort are AMAZING. I would definitely look to book a room for one night if we get back to Nassau again. The casino was also gorgeous and generous :) This is definitely a great option for Nassau vs. the Atlantis (which is getting worn and dated).

While we were there it looked like there were more staff than guests, so I can't imagine they would give anyone who wanted to spend money there a hard time.

Glad you enjoyed it. I have had a couple vacations there already. The rooms are awesome. It'll get busier once the SLS and Rosewood open up. Even grand Hyatt isn't fully done. So right now is an AWESOME time to go before it gets more crowded. And I heard from one employee that once the hotel next door is torn down, a water park may be coming.

Have you been in December? Do you think it will be too cold to enjoy the pools? We are on the diverted Liberty cruise. - I would never choose Nassau in December!

This will be the first ever December for Baha Mar. So I haven't been that time of year. Weather can be hit or miss in December... What if we get a cold front? The water temp should be in the mid 70's which will have a little bite but not unbearable. Maybe reach out to the resort and inquire about whether they heat the pools or not.

Thanks I realize there can be a cold front which is my concern. Our original itinerary was further south and much more likely to be pleasant, if not hot. Think I will plan one beach day and one something else this time, just in case! Heated pools would be nice!

Going to be in Nassau for a port from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 2nd.  I called the Grand Hyatt and they said you can book a room and when you register just tell them it is "day room" and you will have access to the room and all amenities of the hotel from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. the day you reserved the room.  So that is what I did.  Cost around $200.00 but with all the extra fees (resort fees, taxes, etc) it was actually $300.00 or so.  I will report back how it was but looks like it could be a good day with full amenities by the pool and beach.  Plus it is NFL Sunday at the Sports Book so can bet on the morning games while checking scores by the beach.

You'll have a great time.  The property is amazing.  The restaurant by the pool (to the right) is my favorite.  There is also food trucks for a little cheaper option down by the beach/pier.

The jumping rock and cave pool/aquarium is down by the pier as well, I'm sure you'll find it quickly.

Jesron1269 just curious if you were able to do this?  Going on a ship that will port in Nassau from 7 am - 5 pm and we are looking for something to do.  We have checked all the day passes (wanted Sandals but when called said they suspend passes during HIGH season) and other excursions (Blue Lagoon, Balmoral, Pearl....) but having a tough time deciding.  Since this is such a new property thought it may be woth a trip over.

How long of a taxi ride was it?

There will be 5 of us, myself and DH, DS, another couple.  Would one room work?  Or would we need two?

Please let m know of your experience when you have an oppotunity.  Thanks.

Unless they recently changed, there is no wristbands or anything. You just flash a key card and all 5 walk out to the pool. I imagine a total non issue. The other couple can just hang in the casino while you check in. Give them one of your room keys.

Can you tell me when the high season is for Sandals? We are hoping to get a day pass to go there on March 7th.  Thanks in advance!

Thanks all for the info - may have to get two rooms.......then it starts to add up a bit quicker!$$$$$

I also do like the advice given by BNBR so may give that a try!

I've stayed there several times and been a few times more.  It's not like Atlantis with wristbands and all of that.  There is just a guard standing near the doors that lead to the pool area.  You flash your room key and keep walking.  They don't check anything closely, it's not that kind of place.  Same with the towel stations, you just flash your room key and grab all the towels you want.  You will get 2 room keys when you check in.  Just give one to the other couple and they can wander around all they want.  Just note that any purchases will be on the room card, it's cashless.  So make sure you settle that up with the other couple - they can give you cash or whatever for their purchases back on the ship.
