Cosmetics onboard.

Hi Folks

I need some new makeup, Do the shops on :ship: stock a good range of cosmetics or is it mainly perfumes. Also how do the prices compare, are they duty free or just the same as shops at home.

From memory, not a lot of choice of make up. If you had forgotten your make up bag, you would be catered for.....but I think a very limited range of brands and choice

There's a limited amount. I can think of L'Oreal and Benefit, and though there are others I can't remember them

They do some Lancôme but the mascara wasn't hugely different in price. I think they may have stocked some Clarins in the past, but I don't recall seeing it recently.

The also do a bit of Estee Lauder but if you want a particular brand I should buy it before you go. There are many more perfumes than make up.

I personally would never buy cosmetics on board or any other duty free. Better selection and prices at home. 20 percent discount every thursday at my local drugstore and they stock all prestige brands.

I forgot my mascara on our last cruise in April and bought a L'Oreal one in the shop on Ventura. I think it was about £7.50. There wasn't a huge selection.

Thanks for replies, wow 20% off every Thursday, wish we got that at our department stores beauty counters, but no such luck. I spent Saturday night going through my make up drawer and ditched so much stuff that I've hardly used but has been in the drawer for quite a while. Now I'm retired I don't use make up as much or in other words MOH doesn't take me out enough ;plol.

I always buy my make up on my cruises as the prices are much much cheaper than in Australia. Clinic moisturiser on board is about a third of the price that I pay in the shops. They have a small range of estee lauder, Lancombe, Clinic and a few others. They don't have a huge range of colours but they do have a bit of everything. mummsie
