Our best deal was an Alaskan cruise on the Sun. We booked an inside for 459 per person incl taxes( one day sale) and magically got bumped to a balcony, all for less than 1000$ for 2 of us.... sigh will never see a deal like that in my lifetime again that’s for sure!!

Good deal. It's the same price 299+206 for the 7 day sailing on Jewel coming up on September 3, 2018 for those who are interested.

Also a choice of 1 out of 5 Free at sea offers for an Inside, 2 out of 5 Free at sea offers for an Ocean view.

Along with 50 OBC for an inside cabin or 25 for a studio

Right now an internet vacations agent is offering the Sky 4 day to Cuba for $209/pp inside for 2 dates in September - including open bar.
Good find. My online TA is offering the September 3, 2018 -- 4 day sailing on Sky for 199+166 port fees and taxes. Also a choice of 1 out of 5 Free at sea offers.

Along with 25 OBC for an inside cabin or 12.50 for a studio

Doing a B2B. Used another $250 cruise next certificate for the second leg. Or I can say apply the cruise next to the first cruise(after all $500 is $500 for two cruises) and my actual cost for my first cruise is $5 or almost totally free and my second cruise at a good rate.:p

Budget Queen will you join me again? After all you are already there.

December 4, 2016 NCL Getaway. WON IT thru Cruisecritic sweepstakes. Ended up costing something because we upgraded to add our sister and get an aft balcony. Nothing is totally free but for 3 of us in an aft balcony the total cost was under $1,500. What's was funny is that I was the one entering all three of us every day for the sweepstakes and my one sister won it. She thought it was some kind of scam when she got the e-mail and I had to tell her it's for real.

Best deal for me is $36 cash and 2 cruise next certificates, for 11 day, mid balcony, out of san juan. Didn't take the drink package (drinks included in casino), does include specialty dining and insurance, thank you CAS. Also, this cruise will include 200 OBC from casino and 100 OBC as past guest, this is a deal/steal to me.

NCL asked us to give up our cabin for a New England Canada cruise on the Gem. They gave us all of our money back plus $1,040 credit to be used within a year. Used the credit to do 19 days Tampa to Vancouver through the canal, total cost for an inside for the two of us was about $800, much of which was port fees.

How does one participate in the cruisecritic sweepstakes? When is the next one?

Excuse me, what/who is CAS?

CAS is Casino At Sea, which is NCL's casino program. Information is available on the NCL website. Basically if you play in the casino, you may be compensated something on current cruise or qualify for discounts on future cruises. The formula CAS uses to determine the comps is still a mystery to me, so I can't give a specific dollar amount you need to wager.

I'll bet it must be over $1000 over the duration of the cruise

My best deal came from CAS. It was a 7 night Mediterranean cruise that included round trip airfare to Barcelona and 1 night hotel before the cruise. We only had to pay port fees and taxes. The total was $1380 for 2 people and included insurance and the gratuities on the beverage package.

Does one have to gamble over $5000 per cruise to qualify for CAS?

Booked a sailaway balcony on the Gem for $699 solo with no supplement.

Then got a minimum bid (300 x 2) accepted for suite upgrade.

Got to use 2 cruise next deposits, so paid $799 (plus taxes/port fees) to be solo in a suite on a 7-day sailing.

Beat that.
