Rare pierces Posted August 27, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 27, 2018 Dave - where did you post your comments and photo "Sisters" on this blog? Wanted to read and show it to my wife but Hurricane Lane kept us busy for several days! Thanks Here you go! https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=56830619&postcount=13 I assume since you're posting, power and infrastructure are intact? Our friends over near Kona didn't do badly since the mountains ate most of the rain. Dave
tommui987 Posted August 27, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted August 27, 2018 Thanks Dave! My wife thought it was cute! Sort of like the relationship she has with her sister who lives in the Boston area. Oahu didn't really get much effect from the Hurricane Lane. Some electrical outages when tree branches fell cutting some wires but our area had nothing but some light rainfall. Our friends in Kona were lucky compared to the east part of Hawaii Island which got the nation's third biggest rainfall from a cyclone - over 40" of rain in three days over in Hilo and about 50+ overall. (First was Katrina (New Orleans) and the second over on Kauai!)
FlyingFlip Posted August 28, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 28, 2018 Our friends in Kona were lucky compared to the east part of Hawaii Island which got the nation's third biggest rainfall from a cyclone - over 40" of rain in three days over in Hilo and about 50+ overall. (First was Harvey (Southeast Texas) and the second Hiki over on Kauai!) Fixed that for you. (Source.) Katrina didn't have that much rain. The flooding occurred when the levees broke.
