AARP gift cards by mail?

I ordered 4 $100 cards and 3 $100 cards on the same day in April 2017. I did that to get around the 5 card per day limit. I needed more than the limit, and I didn't want to take the chance that they would run out before I could get more. I haven't done that since.

Both envelopes arrived a week later by USPS. I didn't have to sign for them. Each envelope also came with a code for 1,000 points.

What is the discount with AARP and where do you find the info to purchase the cards?

It’s a savings of 10%. I just bought a $500 gift card for $450 with 5000 points I earned from taking quizzes on rewards for good on the AARP website. Once you earn your points, click on gift cards tab or purchase and look for Carnival. It came in 3 business days by UPS but you have to sign for it. I called UPS and had them send it to their holding location since we were at work when they came 3 times!

This helped a lot! This is an awesome deal. Wish I had known about this before I paid for my cruise and excursions! Could have saved $500!!

Yes it's a very nice deal, takes very little time or effort, and the gift cards can be used to pay for the cruise, pre-cruising expenses through Carnival such as excursions, Cheers, Fun Shops, and can be applied to your S&S account.

In my income category ten per cent is a lot of savings.

Happy sailing.

I’ve budgeted that I will probably still spend another $1200 or more on the ship between gratuity, fun shops, the spa, the bar, and the casino. That’s $120 saved right there so I hope they don’t run out before I get a chance to set back my spending money.

You’re welcome! This is my 1st time using it and I’ve done 7 cruises. I saw AARP mentioned on here before but always thought they were talking about the membership.

I called my TA today and put the $500 card I had bought last month for $450 (plus .59 shipping fee) towards our next cruise. Asked him if there was any limit on how many I could use and he said "no". I've just ordered 3 more $500 cards and 1 $100 card, enough to pay off the balance of our cruise. At 10% off, it's a great deal!

I’ll be ordering mine this weekend. At least $1000 but maybe a little more like $1200.

I wonder...how do they work once on board!

I will use about $250 in fun shops, but the rest will be for things like photos, spa, casino, drinks on ship, hub app, and half moon cay drinks, etc. How do I apply these cards to my sign and sail card?

There are five in my party and we will all need to have access to the same funds (with my kids on $50 spending limits).

Don't know about the five card limit. I ordered 7 $500 cards about 10 days ago. They shipped all together via UPS. Received them last Friday and paid off my cruise with them Saturday. They were a great deal saving me $350 off my cruise.

Here is my very recent experience for GC's shipped to SoCal...

ORDER #1

9/23/18 ordered $500 GC's at 9:24pm PST

9/26/18 order was processed and shipped UPS Ground, signature required

10/2/18 order delivered (today)

ORDER #2

9/26/18 ordered $500 GC at 12:06pm PST

10/1/18 order was processed and shipped UPS Ground, signature required

10/5/18 order "scheduled" for delivery

Processing = 2-3 business days

Shipping = 3-4 business days

I think it all depends on 1) the value of GC's you order, 2) how long they take to process the order and 3) how far away you are from OH... for 10/21/18 you should be fine. :)
