Private Sale Email from HAL

I received an email yesterday with private sale prices. Did anyone take advantage of this?

We weren't planning on going on a cruise in the near future, but there are some good prices. Thinking of booking the Niew Statendam for the 4 day when it gets to FL 12/19-12/23. Price for a guarantee inside for 2 is $1,058.

I'd be leery of that particular sailing. It likely will be loaded with TAs and others in the cruise and leisure-time industry and will cater to them specifically. Just MHO.

IMO, HAL's Private Sales represent some good values. I am cruising on one of them in a couple of months. It was combinable with my casino rate, FCD deposit, and shareholder credit.

I received the same email. When I tried to access the link, I was directed to the HAL website which I have been unable to get to work correctly. Lots of freezing up, and jumbled up pages. I’ve shut down my device and restarted. I’ve cleared my cache. I’ve tried to access the page from a link within mail. No matter what I do, the HAL website will not perform for me. Frustrating.

Have never received one of these in 25 years of sailing with HAL. I wonder what the criteria is for sending them to clients?

Maybe try updating your preferences in your account. It may be that the options to receive promos are turned off. They really are great offers.

Wow. That is really frustrating. :( Can you try accessing it from a different device?

$1058 doesn't sound like a bargain to me for 4 days in an inside.

7 day sailings in January on the same ship were selling for less during the "Ready, Set, Sail" sale.

They have a restricted fare for $379/pp + fees and port charges = $978.00 - sounds like a good deal to me!!

I can't get on the website either. Just a big jumble with no operable links. I just gave up. I do a lot of online "business" with all kinds of companies. Nobody else ever has an inoperable website -- unless they announce it will be down for a certain reason.

The heck with 'em.

Loaded with TA? What a great opportunity to find a TA that discounts HAL cruises.

7 days @ $499 is a better deal in my book...that's what January sailings on the NS were selling for during the last sale.

I agree that is a good deal. The cheapest I can find now for a 7 night is $699 on the new NS.

I wouldn’t do a restricted fare for any Caribbean cruise. The price tends to creep down the closer it gets to the sailing.

When I opened the email and clicked the link, the only thing that came up was a blank page. Way to go, HAL...

You can get great deals on private sales. We just booked for Nov in a signature suite for $799 each on the eastern Caribbean. Would have been less except we are paying in Canadian funds. Last November we got a Neptune suite for the same price. Grab them when you can if you want that itinerary.

Are these TA's/companies on the internet?

I don't know which TA are on that cruise so I can't answer that question.

I have been unable to locate a TA that discounts by searching the internet. Some say that cruise lines discourage/prohibit TA from advertising fares differing from the cruise line website. Others deny that to be the case. I have found some TA that advertise significant savings but those savings are against "brochure" prices which are like MSRP on a new car sticker. No one, not even the cruise lines, charge "brochure" prices.

In effect, you will have to directly contact the TA and ask. Look for TA that indicate you should contact them for a "Quote".

Since you will have to contact the TA directly, that is why I said being on a cruise with a large number of TA would be a great opportunity to find one.

A friend referred me to the TA I use.

I got a Private Sale flyer in the mail two days ago but didn't get an email this time. Gonna call today and see if it is any improvement on what we have and also see if I can weedle some info about Explore4 out of our PCC.

My friend booked on Sat and got Explore4 included. He also got a casino rate.
