Military Discounts

I know that you can get benefits if you are in the Forces, retired or a disabled veteran

But

Are there any cruise lines that offer benefits to relatives of someone who served at any time in the past and who may be deceased, eg my late father served in World War 2?

A long shot I know but it did come up in a conversation some time ago (not on CC) and I never followed it up.

Not that I know of, I cannot imagine why any lines would offer generational discounts.

I was just curious. Our travel insurance is with a firm that offers excellent prices on a generational basis as you put it. They are also offering quite generous fare discounts for 1st time cruisers with Fred Olsen or a smaller discount if you are a past passenger. Reviews for FO are very mixed and I think we will not be taking up the offer.

That sounds like it may be worth taking advantage of then. I have friends that cruise FO often but then they are cruising for the itineraries rather than the ship. It cannot be that bad if they keep returning.

Would you mind telling me which ship they've sailed on.

They have been on the Black Watch, the Balmoral and the Boudicca. They may have been on the Braemar as well but I am not sure. Lots of Arctic / Norway / Iceland / Greenland cruises. He loves to be on deck all daylight taking wildlife photos, flying fish, birds , dolphins, whales etc. https://www.flickr.com/people/mosesharold/

I think the ships sometimes go from Newcastle or Edinburgh which is closer to where they live in England.
