Mediterranean Classics -- July 22- Itinerary Change

I posted this on our roll call and thought it might be wise to post it here as well.

I know you’ve left HAL and hope you enjoy O as much as we did.

This will be our third O cruise. The last two have been great and we really do not think we will return to HAL unless things change drastically. Thanks for your good wishes.

Just received an email from my travel agent. The ports of Santorini and Mykonos have been swapped.

This is really good. We are now the only ship in port in Santorini. The original day had six ships in port.

In Mykonos, there is only one other ship in port rather than three on our original day.

 

So our new schedule is:

Santorini --July 23--8 am to 6 pm--No other ships in port. (tender)

Mykonos-- July 25--8 am to 6 pm--(tender)

One other ship in port-- Costa Luminosa (2800 passengers) I assume they will be docking.

 

Hope this helps everyone, especially those with private tours arranged in these ports.

Am I looking at it wrong....

Being alone in Santorini is a HUGE plus. Enjoy.

Terri, I received the same from our T/A on the schedule change. My question on the updated information for Mykonos was regarding the number of ships in port.

Is there another source besides Cruise.tt where you saw that only one other ship was to be there. Again what I see is 5 other ships totaling 10,382 passengers plus Oceania.

Obviously some bad info on Cruise.tt.....It shows the some of the same ships in Mykonos on both 24 and 25 of July and the same vessel twice.

Well, it appears that hasn’t been updated either to show that the Riviera is now in port on 25-July rather than 23 July. I grant you that your site is probably the most accurate.,

We are still in better shape than we would have been had Oceania stuck to the original itinerary. So what is all the fuss about? As LHT28 says “Go with the flow” and enjoy the day in port and be happy that in both Santorini and Mykonos there will be fewer people.

So it is more than one other ship than the Riviera.

The Costa Luminosa holds 2838 passengers

The MSC neoRiviera holds 1248 passengers

The Oceania Riviera holds 1300 passengers.

So if all ships are filled to the max we are looking at 5386 passengers.

That is better than double that number. I, for one, can live with that number. It won’t ruin my day in Mykonos.

Even better is being the only ship in port in Santorini.
