Help me convince my husband

He will be going on his first cruise (my third) this summer, and is refusing to go the seafood specialty restaurant on board for fear that the fish can't be "fresh" unless they are reeling them in as we cruise. I know that this isn't true, but I have no info except that we don't have scads of people on cruises suffering from food poisoning!

Fresh? A relative term.

Generally, most of it is frozen. Even the lobster tails are frozen...in some cases they are not even lobsters, but 'rock lobsters', which are oversized crawdads.

Still...I enjoy them and often eat two servings.:D

Interesting! I'd never heard of crawdads before...of course, I just googled it![emoji6]

All seafood is processed and FROZEN as it's caught, at sea, unless it's a small fisherman delivering to a small business. Even the so-called "fresh fish" in your grocer's iced display case is "previously frozen".

I saw some pics of the Oceans Cay seafood restaurant on Seaside. Disappointed that they did not have shrimp or lobster available. [emoji21]

Apparently those “live wells” on the Deadliest Catch are “dead wells”.
