Do you recommend skipping Aquaventure?

My husband and I are going to be in Nassau in January on a RCI cruise. We're in our early 30s and usually enjoy waterparks so this one caught our eye. After reading reviews, I'm starting to wonder whether $151 a person for a half day is at all worth it?

I've read that the slides don't really open until an hour after you arrive. And that the lines get crazy long. And that the staff is rude and the resort is difficult to navigate. Can anyone advise if we would we be better off skipping it or if we should just go for it?

Lines "can" get crazy long. I was there in May and literally no lines at all, even with ships in port. It's NOT an excellent water park. If you go to other water parks, then it may not be worth it. If you don't really have access to parks and slides and it's a unique experience for you, it may be worth it.

$151 for 4 hours at Aquaventure... oh HECK NO it's not worth it. I spent a few days there in May. It's nice, but honestly, it's kind of like if Motel 6 did a mega resort. It's just not that special and feels run down, but at the same time, kind of big. But it's really not that great of a water park. What makes it fun is staying there, where you spend a few hours at the beach, maybe play some games at the casino, ride the slides or take a run on the rapids then maybe wander around the aquarium. But for an in and out 4 hours... NO WAY.

Depends when your ship arrives.

And that the lines get crazy long.

They can for some of the slides but the intense lazy river is always open with no wait and always awesome.

I have not found that to be the case at all.

See for yourself but personally I think it's awesome...

It’s a fun and somewhat unique water park, but I’ve done it both ways-land and cruise. There just isn’t enough time off the cruise ship to make it worth the $150 pp. We have stayed at the Comfort Suites across the street from Atlantis which is the best value bc it includes the water park tix for up to 4 peeps and breakfast. We also got a condo at Atlantis through VRBO overlooking the marina area that includes access to the water park. It is much better to enjoy the water park with a stay there IMO. Oh, and FYI-that 4 hour half-day time frame from the ship excursion includes the time it takes to transport to and from the ship.
