Sun Specialty dining

Teppanyaki is going to be hard to get on the Sun as I don't think they let you book it in advance. It also used to be just one table so you'll have to book first thing on board if you want a chance.

While we didn't try Le Bistro or La Cucina (for dinner anyway), we loved Teppanyaki and Cagney's on the Sun. Moderno was just ok, though. I agree about making reservations as soon as you get on board for Teppanyaki. It's tiny and we were not allowed to book ahead of time. We were in a suite, though, and I made a request with the pre-cruise concierge so we had no issues getting our preferred reservation. If not in a suite, book as soon as possible on board.

We love Le Bistro.

We also think that the Coq au Vin is a real sleeper.

The flavors that have been simmered are *really* good, and the meat is tender and moist.

(This may be be a dish that many people have ever had, but it's really worth trying here.)

We both agree with this, and when eating out, we usually go for things like Prime Rib or a really good steak.

(Or classic duck a l'orange, which is getting harder and harder to find, and it's a real ordeal to prepare from scratch at home :()

We also think the filet at Le Bistro is much better than at Cagney's. (Yes, we know that they are supposedly the same cut, but *something* is very different, and not nearly as good at Cagney's.)

Strangely enough, we were allowed to book Teppanyaki yesterday for our cruise on the Sun in November. Maybe it's because our cruise is so far in the future and they do carry a limited number of book-ahead seats?

We have advance booked Teppanyaki on the Sun. But, it sells out really quickly since they only have a couple of tables.
