June 25, 2015

DW, DM and myself flew into Seattle from Ottawa via Vancouver.

Airport food at Vancouver airport was actually good...

You know you're on vacation when you have desert with breakfast, DW had the ice cream sandwich

We arrive in Seattle shortly after 2PM, here are a couple of pics of Seattle Airport

We then checked into the Holiday Inn on Dexter Avenue. Great location and a great price since DW works for Holiday Inn, here are a couple of hotel pics

It was just a short walk to the Space Needle and Chihuly Glass Gardens so we ventured out for some sight seeing...

Following. Haven't cruised Celebrity yet but this is one of the cruises I was just looking into for DS graduation cruise in 2018.

We had dinner at the Emerald Grill next to the Holiday Inn. My DW is 57 and I'm 53, I tell you this only because they would NOT serve us a beer until we showed ID to prove our age. I was more annoyed than flattered.

It was an early night after traveling and some sight seeing...

June 26th, 2015

We were up early and went out for coffee and a quick bite to eat. Oddly enough we didn't end up at a Starbucks we went to a small coffee house close by called "Cherry Street Coffee House", enjoyed a coffee and bagel

We checked out of the hotel shortly after 10AM. They called a car service for us and we were off to the pier, at 10:25AM we got our first look at the Solstice

We had an obstructed view balcony on deck 6 (cabin 6178) and I knew it was just above these lifeboats.

There was a bit of traffic at the port but once the car service dropped us off and I got a couple of pics we were done checking in at 10:47AM

As you can see from that pic not very many people at the pier yet...

At 10:49AM right after checkin we are allowed to board the ship, I was very surprised at this quick boarding process.

I got an email and call from Celebrity a week or two before the cruise and the message was for us not to show up till 1:30PM. Obviously I ignored the message and was happy to be onboard before 11AM

After taking our time up the gangway we were getting our champagne at 10:55AM

I'll continue tomorrow since I have more photos to upload to flickr before I post them here...still to come from day 1, Molecular bar, Martini bar, MDR Dinner pics and random photos around the ship

They already had the couch made up as a bed for me, I was leaving the bed for DW and DM. They did come back and separate the beds for us later...
