crossman2k Posted September 15, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 15, 2009 There is a small shopping village when you first get off the tender. It has one main gift shop that sells towels, t-shirts, hats, and other Half Moon Cay merchandise and they do take the S&S card. Surrounding the gift shop are 5-6 straw market style booths where locals sell other goods like baskets, purses, wood carvings, and hair braiding that are cash only. There is also an ice cream shop and the "Rum Runners" bar. :)

The sun is intense. You're going to need at least SPF30, we were using SPF50 and later on SPF70 and we still got a dark tan. If you aren't renting a cabana, then you will also have to pack the blue towels from the room. They mention it in the capers and on TV. I didn't see any towel huts anywhere. Enjoy! Krazy Kruizers Posted September 18, 2009 #7 Share Posted September 18, 2009 Actually -- there are no blue towels in your cabin. They will be stacked on a table down by the gangway where you board the tenders.

grandmato4 Posted September 19, 2009 #10 Share Posted September 19, 2009 Do the cabanas supply towels- so that we don't need to take any off of the ship? Yes, when we rented the green cabana last Oct towels were brought to us soon after we arrived and midday they did come around again asking if our towels were ok or if we needed new ones. If you're getting a Cabana you're gonna LOVE it !:)

If you're getting a Cabana you're gonna LOVE it !:) Yes - we rented the turquoise cabana last spring. I watched HAL every day until they were released. Several people on the site recommended turquoise - so we will try it. I am getting so excited.
