twoatsea Posted September 21, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 21, 2009 What is the best location on the hump? We have 7634, but the other 2 are now available. We are sailing 11/23/09, westward TA from Southampton. Is the port or starboard side most desirable? Is it best to be on forward or aft of the furthest hump extension. I was thinking that if forward, would get lots more wind than if aft? Or, is the 'seeing where we are going' view better on the forward portion & worth the wind? Do certain places on the hump have larger balconies or cabins, which make them more preferred? I have some time to keep watching available cabins & I'd like to know which to grab!!! cb at sea Posted September 21, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 21, 2009 I'd take 8636--it's more central on the hump, and it's one deck higher--and closer to the pool! Side of the ship doesn't matter one bit. Whether you're "forward" or "aft" of the hump doesn't matter one bit. Only on Radiance class ships do the balcony sizes vary, so all of the hump balconies on Independence will be the same size per catagory of cabin. twoatsea Posted September 22, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted September 22, 2009 Thanks a lot - I got it - #8636. What about a D1 & D2? There isn't that much difference in price. If one of those on the hump opens, is it worth the upgrade? What more do they give me? Looks like the balconies are smaller? Or....maybe there aren't any on the hump. Desert Cruizers Posted September 22, 2009 #5 Share Posted September 22, 2009 if you notice, the rooms are smaller, with the E-1's but Balconies larger. I would take the larger balcony. We booked 8620 Center Hump on the Mariner for our next cruise.
