Pumbaamd Posted September 27, 2009 #26 Share Posted September 27, 2009 Mango Tango . . . no worries. We've done Grandeur, Brilliance, Jewel and Voyager. Would do Grandeur again over the others if she suited our time frame (which hasn't worked lately). We did the 13 day Grandeur repo from Baltimore to NOLA in 2006. What a great almost two weeks that was! The staff and crew, Solarium pool, the dining room were excellent. Actually, our vacation was more than two weeks. We spent two days post-cruise in NOLA! vavasmom Posted September 27, 2009 #27 Share Posted September 27, 2009 We were in a Grand Suite in July. Here are some pics. I am not 100% certain the JS is the same. We were lucky enough to have the new safe - but the room still had instructions for the old credit card swipe safe. TV: Tube not flat screen and avg size - It took up the entire stand: Coffee Service: It brewed into the cup. Note hot pot for water: Safe and Dressing table area:
dixieva Posted September 27, 2009 #28 Share Posted September 27, 2009 The grand suite is not the same as the JS. It is quite a bit bigger. But the JS is a very nice room and it's usually what we book unless we get a great deal on one of the higher rated suites.
angeljt Posted September 27, 2009 #29 Share Posted September 27, 2009 And we were in a GS, which presumably for all those extra $$$$ would get one. Although we did have a more normal sized TV ... my sister, in the RFS, had one of those tiny ones. No sense to that! If I could have Anthony from the Grandeur as my steward on every cruise, I wouldn't care if I had any TV... el henry I hope they have the same bartenders in the Schooner as last time. They knew when I came in alone that I wanted a ruuuuuuuuum & coke. (Not Coke & Rum!) They also learned not to know me when I was with my DW! We have the other corner-8584. I read about it on these boards, so I knew to ask about it's availability! I would love to take Anthony, Dwight (from the Schooner) and Captain Rob home with me!!! We loved the Grandeur and the staff and crew. Was Dwight there when you cruised? There were a few other good bartenders, but he stood out! We were in 8584 and loved it! We had two regular, small TV's, a French press & pot to heat water. Anthony Dwight
Karemark Posted September 28, 2009 #30 Share Posted September 28, 2009 We are sailing on the Grandeur in January and have an OV guarantee for 4 of us. Where would the two pullmans be? Also, do they usually wait until after final payment to start assigning cabins?
