HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO grod19: There are always risks involved with taking odds. You lose when the devil is rolled. Remember, any bet you make the House had an edge or else they would fail to exist.

You have the same odds from roll to roll. Just because you may have rolled a yo-eleven five consective times doesn't mean it will be rolled again or another number will be rolled. When you take single odds you reduce the house edge by 40%. If you take double odds then you reduce the house edge by 17%. When you take triple odds you are taking less than 10% of the house edge. Then if you want to reduce the house edge by another 10% you must increase your odds bet by five times. I hope you are following what I am saying. The more odds you have the less percentage house edge you reduce.

CP.....We repeat......THE HOUSE HAS NO ADVANTAGE PERCENTAGE ON FREE ODDS....ONLY on your front line (flat) bet where you are paid EVEN money.

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO LSTEFFA: Except when the shooter sevens out and the house collects all bets.

Do you put a large percentage of your stake at risk on one shooter?

I am not sure how your post factors into this argument?? First we were discussing odds, which is the statistical outcome of many (millions) of trials, now you are talking about the effects of one roll? I'm so confused.

Grod...You are beating your head against the wall with CP on his grasping the fact that FREE ODDS IN CRAPS is the only bet in the entire casino that gives the house NO ADVANTAGE. We are talking odds...he is into money management which is in the next chapter.

Well I am at work so banging my head against the wall is inevitable, might as well be because of a discussion that I enjoy.

Some video poker machines pay out over 100% if played perfectly so that is the best bet, assuming you can find one with the right pay tables and you know basic strategy perfectly.

LOL....I think if a video poker machine paid out consistantly 100%+ the casino would retire it to the scrap yard.

Actually they are programmed to do that, because it is only if you play 100% absolutely perfect basic strategy does it pay out that much. Make any mistake from perfect play and the odds are back below 100%, right where the casino wants them.

I didn't win anything over the course of a seven day cruise on NCL Spirit, I played slots. Played the first day casino opened, no luck that day or any other. DH won a little at poker when he played, regular table Texas Hold Em'. Had no difference in luck the first day though, he played a little bit over several days, won some lost some. We didn't play at all when the casino opened for our return trip from Bermuda. That was our experience:(

Makes sense to me that the machines would hit better the first day to get the people in the casino. We have a casino close by where I live and when it first opened, the machines were very loose. NOT ANYMORE! Guess they wanted to get you hooked ! I am one of the ones that hits on the 1st day in casino and then downhill .

You don't say. Where do you think the sun will rise tomorrow, the east or the west?

Depends, what kind of odds are you giving me on that bet? :)

I will give you any odds you want if we can both choose and ties go to me.

+1 to both of you :D

Don't mind him; I just replied to his post in another forum, and now I'm realizing I might as well be talking to a cocktail napkin.

It doesn't happen, if you read a couple of posts regarding slots on here I go into how casinos set the odds for payback on machines.

But to keep it short, the only way to change the odds is to change the pay tables.
