advise on bookit.com

I need to book accomadation in Ft.Lauderdale post cruise. Found a good deal on bookit.com. but have never used this site, can anyone recommend them. As I'm booking from Australia wanted to know if it's a safe site like priceline. Would be thankful for any input.

Bookit.com is pretty reliable. I used it to book a room in Las Vegas.

We used them once before and had no issues.

I would absolutely not recommend this company whatsoever. We used them last January for a 1 night stay at the Riviera in south beach. On the site it show a very glamorous hotel and stated that there was a casino in the hotel. No... I was looking at the right location this wasn't in Vegas. They also said there was beach access and we could get a free shuttle to the airport.

 

We had driven down to Key West after the cruise and spent a day down there. The next day when we arrived at the hotel with the rental car which we were going to turn in after checking in to the hotel I told DH we must have the wrong address as there was no hotel in sight that looked like the picture. We did go inside to find out where we really needed to go and they said this is it! The hotel was in a shambles as they were apparently remodeling but we thought for one night we will just make do as didn't want a hassle of looking for something else. The first room they put us in was so noisy from the street we decided to go to the front desk to see if there was another room we could get. We had to wait 45 min as some workers were trying to get a carpet around the corner and got it stuck! The 2nd room was okay. We then called the front desk to arrange for the shuttle in the morning as we had to be at the airport at 8:00. They told us that the 1st shuttle didn't come until 9:00! We then asked about beach access as it wasn't anywhere in sight. They said it was a few blocks away but we could carry the beach chairs down there if we wanted. I was pretty upset by this time and talked to the manager and he said that they have had a lot of problems with Bookit misrepresenting what the facility has and that they were going to remove themselves from Bookit altogether.

 

When I got back from the trip I tried but eventually gave up trying to resolve this with the company.
