Voyager of the Seas Casino

Does anyone know if the Voyager accepts U.S. dollars for their casino games/slots or do you have to use Euros; since it is going to the Mediterranean and leaving out of Barcelona. Thanks

The casino runs on a cash basis in US Dollars.

Enjoy your cruise and good luck in the casino.

thanks, it is difficult to bring along different types of cash when you travel to Europe and U.S. together; I feel more comfortable traveling with one type -- U.S. money.

If i may, please let me make a comment or two.

First, Europe is much more convenient than it used to be. All the countries in your itinerary are on the Euro, compared to what it was like a while back when you would have had to deal with three different currencies.

Second, most of your purchases ashore will probably be with a credit card, so no actual bills of any kind are needed.

Third, if you do any exploring on your own, there are some things where you might want to have a small amount in Euros: for example, stopping into a little coffee house for a cup or two. You don't have to bring any with you. Just stop at any bank ATM, which are as numerous in Europe as in any US city. They will accept your card (if it is on one of the major networks like Cirrus or Plus) and the display will switch to English for your convenience. Draw 20 Euros and you're on your way.

You don't have to do any heavy arithmetic of conversion... estimate 1 Euro = $1.50 US and you're close enough.

Shalom. Andy

I did that before when I was staying in Nice for a week. I walked to the casino and took out enough for one day; I have separated some Euros into envelopes for each day for lunches, and such. I am so used to writing out checks, though. The only thing I don't like is there isn't a Euro for our $1.00, so I have to exchange some $5.00 Euros into change when I get into Barcelona. Thanks for your help
