rrunner Posted October 11, 2009 #3 Share Posted October 11, 2009 Are the dinner hours and the menus the same each night for the different eating areas? If you dine in The Carvery or La Piazza you can choose your own time to eat - you do need to call ahead for a reservation. The menu does not change - we have sailed 6 times on QM2 - I do not remember seeing a menu change in either restaurant. The Lotus and Chef's Galley menu does change. You still need to make a reservation - Chef's Galley is small so book ahead early. Hopefully my memory is correct. We are sailing in a few weeks so I will correct myself if wrong. Yankee Couple Posted October 11, 2009 #4 Share Posted October 11, 2009 Is the Chef's Galley only dinner? Or lunch too?
rrunner Posted October 11, 2009 #5 Share Posted October 11, 2009 Is the Chef's Galley only dinner? Or lunch too? Lunch and breakfast. Deli style - omelettes - waffles for breakfast - hamburgers and sandwiches for lunch. Good selection of breads and cold meats - smoked salmon etc.

Crowsnesters Posted October 12, 2009 #7 Share Posted October 12, 2009 Marie50- From your question I was not sure if you knew this. Chef's Galley is always La Carte in the evening, but of the other 3 one is buffet and the other 2 La Carte. They rotate which one in buffet, and the buffet still reflects the theme of the resterant. safarigal Posted October 12, 2009 #8 Share Posted October 12, 2009 If you want to do the Chef's Galley for dinner (which I highly recommend) do book as early into your trip as possible. It was fully booked every night of our cruise.

safarigal Posted October 13, 2009 #10 Share Posted October 13, 2009 Is there an additional charge for the Chef's Galley in the evening? No there is not. It's a nice alternative to Todd English.
Catnip Posted October 13, 2009 #11 Share Posted October 13, 2009 No there is not. It's a nice alternative to Todd English. That is good news! We might have to try it one night! So, is Todd English the only "pay extra" dining venue on the QM 2? Thanks for your help!
heywood Posted October 14, 2009 #12 Share Posted October 14, 2009 As I recall, Chef's Galley was closed quite a lot in the evening recently. Enjoyed it at lunch time though.

Really - do you know why?? We always have a hard time getting a reservation - need to book early in the morning. There are only a few tables - the room is quite small. It is very popular and the food is excellent.
