Not sure. Was paired with a Disney vacation in the mid 90's. I think I still have my ship card around somewhere

Just curious. Kind of a ship buff myself and would have loved to have sailed on any of those classic ships. A shame that I believe all of them are gone now, with the possible exception of one

Never did big Red boat but 1st 7 day cruise was Rotterdam in 1977 which became one of the Big Red Boats , that was a great ship at the time

And is thankfully still around, though is no longer sailing.

I was talking to a officer on Hal and he said he had been on it recently , it is now a museum/hotel I think, I would love to see it again.

I believe you are correct that she is either a museum or hotel. I do know that she is permanently docked in Rotterdam. Such a beautiful ship from the late 50's.

Don't know where you heard that the Jubilee ever sank, but it did not. It is currently sailing as the Henna in Asia. The Holiday is still sailing under the name of MS Magellan.

1989 -- the Bermuda Star out of Montreal, to Quebec, Prince Edward Island, Sydney, Nova Scotia, Provincetown, and ending in NYC. There was a piano player named Duncan McKenzie and a French Canadian singing and dancing group called Danielle Dorice and the Doricettes.

I sailed on the Cunard Carmania in 1968 as an eight year old. We were hit mid ships by an oil tanker while we were leaving Lisbon I think and we weren't able to go to Tunisia. I still remember the dining room shaking while we had our dinner.

Our first Caribbean cruise was on The Norway! Talk about tendering to all the ports. Think it was about 1998 and Norwegian Cruise line had already refitted it from the original oceangoing ship by taking out the middle of the ship. Anyone else ever travel on her?

SS Norway was one of my favorite ships. Cruised here 7 times ( more than any other ship) starting in mid 1980's, we did our honeymoon on her in 1991, one of my favorite ships of all time.

My wife and I originally met on the SS Skyward from NCL on Halloween 1986. At the time she lived in California and I lived in New Jersey. We had a "coast to coast" relationship for three years. Used to meet in different cities around the country. Ended up getting married in November 1989. Been married ever since and I ended up moving to California. No regrets.

What ever happened to the Skyward? I thought I read that its still floating.

Cabo Izarra 1969

(Went into ferry service in Hong Kong as the Xing Hu then scrapped in 2002)

Costa Flavia 1971

(Caught fire and sunk 1989 in Hong Kong harbor)

Regal Empress 2002

(Scrapped in 2009 in Alang, India)

Is Hong Kong the place where old ships go to die? These were all memorable cruises in their own way.

Royal Caribbean's Monarch of the Seas.  We were on this ship on our very first cruise 20 years ago.  I found this information. She now sails for:   On April 1, 2013, Monarch was transferred from Royal Caribbean International to Spain's Pullmantur Cruises to join her sister ship MS Sovereign after serving for Royal Caribbean International for 22 years.[8] Monarch began sailing year-round in the Southern Caribbean for Pullmantur beginning April 27, 2013.[9][10] Before sailing for Pullmantur, Monarch underwent another refurbishment in April 2013 to some of its cabins, casino and shops

I was thinking about all of the ships I've sailed on that have changed ownership and now sail under a new name and then I did some research on ships I've been on that no longer even exist. Here goes...

Emerald Seas - Scrapped

Mardi Gras - Scrapped

Festival - Scrapped

Regent Sea - Sank

Regent Star - Scrapped

Seabreeze - Sank

Norway - Scrapped

Anyone else?

From Miami in the 60’s:
SS Florida
Yarmouth
Yarmouth-Castle
Bahama Star
