Do taxis in Cape Town take either US$ or credit cards?

I think they would prefer Rands,if they do you will pay over the odds ie 1 dollar 1 Rand ;):):)

No exactly a favorable exchange rate. I will hit an ATM at the airport in Cape Town while waiting for our bags.

We stopped in Cape Town for a couple of days with P & O Oriana in 2003.

Taxis were in great oversupply with drivers waiting many hours for a fare at the ship, they took only Rands. The price is very cheap by the hour with a little negotiation. We will return with Oceania in 2010, very nice place.
