Sigyn Posted October 13, 2009 #1 Share Posted October 13, 2009 The Celebrity cruise I'm considering docks in Seward at 3 a.m. What time is disembarkation? Do you have to get up in the middle of the night to get off the ship, or do you have breakfast and get off the ship at a more "normal" time such as 7 or 8 a.m.? Thanks! Chenega Posted October 13, 2009 #3 Share Posted October 13, 2009 You won't be allowed to leave until around 6:30 or so.
Rare tetleytea Posted October 13, 2009 #4 Share Posted October 13, 2009 Yep, they kick you all off at 3am. What they do is they set up a bunch of igloos right outside the cruise terminal where you have to spend the rest of the night. It's kind of like a FEMA camp for Eskimos. :D
Sigyn Posted October 13, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted October 13, 2009 thanks, everyone! I appreciate the info. Cruise ships are into such quick turnarounds that I had to ask to be sure. :)
Longtonian Posted October 13, 2009 #6 Share Posted October 13, 2009 If you are on the starboard side, don't expect much sleep on arrival in Seward. When we were on the Millennium in August, from 3.30am it was extremely noisy as trucks/forklifts loaded and unloaded below us, beeping loudly as they reversed. And we were high up on the ship. They've had your money, so who cares about the passenger experience on the last night? And they withdraw smoked salmon at breakfast too!
Rare tetleytea Posted October 13, 2009 #7 Share Posted October 13, 2009 They've had your money, so who cares about the passenger experience on the last night? And they withdraw smoked salmon at breakfast too! No kidding. Our breakfast experience on the final morning was AWFUL. After 1 1/2 hours' waiting, we had to walk out hungry in order to meet our disembarkation time. That was on Princess, not Celebrity, by the way. Our experience on Celebrity in Seward was not too bad, other than the disembarkation process was a little long. We had an interior cabin that time (so didn't even know it was daylight out).
