Yulara336 Posted October 16, 2009 #1 Share Posted October 16, 2009 I am booking another cruise, just 3 days after returning from the first one! We are looking at the new Jewel and was wondering what the difference is between 3rd berth available and 3rd or 4th berth available There will be three of us, 2 adults and 1 child (4yo) Last cruise our son had no problem sleeping up top and never fell out, in fact he refused to sleep down below. Which meant hubby and I had single beds, quite fun actually Do you think with the 3rd available we could push the beds together?
yamcrzr Posted October 16, 2009 #2 Share Posted October 16, 2009 On the cabin and deck layouts page of the P&O 2009/2011 1st edition book, it says: Note: Twin bed cannot be converted to a queen-size bed if the 3rd or 4th berths are occupied. Have fun looking for your next holiday.......
The_Big_M Posted October 16, 2009 #3 Share Posted October 16, 2009 Sometimes they use roll-outs/sofas for the 3rd, but haven't heard of the two others being combined if there are more than 2 people in the room.
Yulara336 Posted October 16, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted October 16, 2009 Well I booked the J019 for June 2010 with cabin #9199. Its a third berth available one. Will report if they are much different than a regular 4-berth. And outside this time!!!
kcbj Posted October 16, 2009 #5 Share Posted October 16, 2009 Hi Yulara, So you had a ball then. How did your son go in his formal outfit? We came back looking to book our next cruise too. We haven't found the right one yet. Hope you have a great time again next year. Cheers Clive
Yulara336 Posted October 16, 2009 Author #6 Share Posted October 16, 2009 Heres one of our formal pics, he was pretty naughty and didnt want to sit still, hence we only got the B&W but they turned out beautifully!
karmac Posted October 16, 2009 #7 Share Posted October 16, 2009 swhen we cruised on PD's mauden voyage, a couple we knew were travelling with their son and their cabin steward did push the lower beds together for them. However, they are not suppsod to.
Yulara336 Posted October 17, 2009 Author #8 Share Posted October 17, 2009 I figured out the difference. I was just looking at the Ocean Village Two website and it says (Circle) shows cabins with the option of a 3rd berth using a single sofa bed (AA grade) or foldaway bed (DD, EE, JJ and LL grades) We booked a DD outside cabin #9199 and it has this option! So it seems we would be able to have our son in a foldaway bed after all!
