Is it best to bring cash on board for the casino?

AAA is phasing them out by region. They just stopped selling them in my area.

Expect the same where you live. Your turn will come.

YO - Are you in the USA? They told me they're not phasing them out - unless AMEX stops selling them.

ALRIGHT!!!!!!

Thanks for the confirmation.....I'll keep truckin' with my traveler's checks.

Just a side note: My last cruise, I cashed in $100.00 and left the table with better than $500. What did I do? I put $400.00 on my S&S card for excursions and pix, then took the left over $100 back to the casino the next day.

Carnival practically paid for all my pixs and 1 excursion. I even left the ship with a check. THE BEST CRUISE EVER!!!!

I'm hoping for a repeat on the next cruise.

I use cash (or traveler's checks) because I can go to the casino with the amount I allow myself for gambling per day, and leave when it's gone.

It's too easy to use your key card to access your onboard account, and end up overspending in the casino.

Yep and it looks like someone is giving you false info. Ask the same people why they no longer sell AAA traveler's checks in fla. The stopped selling them last october. I would call that a phase out in my book. See ya back here.

I've read on here some people bring traveler's checks to cash for the casinos, or just get money taken off their credit card (for a fee). Do others simply bring cash to gamble with? I don't want to have to pay a fee in order to pull money out to gamble with, nor hassle with traveler's checks....just curious what y'all do.

Thanks!

Kelly :)

If you want to take cash you can lock it in your safe or better yet, deposit it in the casino cage as front money, then request it as you need it. On NCL, RCI and Celebrity you can get up to $2000 per day in the casino and it will be charged to your onboard account, with no fees, up to you credit card limit.

Last October Royal Caribbean did not charge any fees for casino chips or money charged to your onboard account in the casinno. May be different at their ATM.
