Holiday Mexican Riviera ?

Going on a Christmas cruise on the Spirit/Carnival. First time sailing on Carnival and looking forward to it.

What is advice on things to do in Ixtapa, Acapulco and Manzanillo(sp)?

We are not interested in going to a beach, and although middle aged, we want some adventure or historical culture on this trip. Any advice on excursions? Any suggestions on tour operators we can use?
