since MSC has cancelled all the Caribbean cruises themselves, they offered either a 125% FCC or 100% refund. I didn't find anything interesting in the next year and a half, so I opted for a refund.

Your case is different. Just sit tight and you will get your money. It happened to us on NCL Jade - the ship broke down on day 3 and we had to go home. They refunded 100% of the cruise, but it took a bit of time.

There are very low price MSc Cruises around Europe and Mediterranean in November 2020

Just wanted to say I've used the self-service laundry on my three carnival cruises (mostly the iron) and had no problems. This is no different than doing anything else..... you run the risk of running into a lowlife with any activity you do. Not sure what was in the air or water on that cruise tho, my goodness.
