Hi there...this is our first cruise. Has anyone been on the Voyager of the Seas with younger kids that can tell me a bit about the kids club and facilities? Or advise us on best cabin choice for kids that age? Thank you!

The kids club is LOVED by children aged 13 and under (the teens, not so much!). You'll have a hard time getting them to leave! They do all sorts of activities, put on "shows" and have some nighttime things the kids love. Someone will post a kid's Compass for you, I'm sure!

Get the largest cabin you can afford....at least a D catagory, if you can't swing a suite. Cabins aren't like hotel rooms...they're smaller, so be prepared for that! Have the deck plans in front of you when booking! What folks book depends on the budget! Some families will book 2 connecting cabins, so the parents get a bit of privacy and the kid's messes are "contained"! Again, the deckplans are important!!!

Try to get on a deck close to where you think you'll spend most of your time...it makes getting around easier. Being near stairs and elevators is a big bonus...no noise, and less walking those extremely loooooong hallways!

Royal Caribbean's Adventure Ocean youth program offers many activities and your children will love it. The Aquanauts (ages 3 to 5) offers activities such as Adventure Art: mask making, pottery, fish kites. And Adventure Science combines fun and hands-on science experiments. There is also Storytime Sessions, Talent Show, Pirate Night, Ice Cream Party, and Pajama Rama Movie Night. The Explorers (ages 6 to 8) offers some of the above, as well as Name That Tune, Scavenger Hunts, Bingo, and Movie Mania. Every cruise is different, but those are some of the activities.

Regarding stateroom location, you may want to consider booking (and there are only a couple of these configurations on the Voyager), a Balcony/Interior or Balcony/Oceanview connecting stateroom. The adults can enjoy the balcony and have their privacy, while the kids can be accessible without you having to go out in the hallway. And you will appreciate having the two bathrooms! Check connecting staterooms #9676 & #9681, or #9376 & #9381 for a balcony/interior. Or for a balcony/oceanview (and the Oceanview is large at 211 s.f.) check #9520 & #9518, or #9220 & #9218. These connecting staterooms are all located on Deck 9, either aft or forward.

The Voyager is very likely the perfect cruise for your family's first cruise, bon voyage!

We have not been on the Voyager, but we have been on the Mariner and Adventure of the Seas which are both voyager class vessels. My daughters first cruise was when she was 4 months old. She as cruised 4 times since and she just turned 5 in April. She loves the adventure ocean. We have to drag her out of there at 10 pm so we dont have to pay the $5/hour fee after 10 pm. She always brings art work back to the room and has loved the crew on all of the ships we have been on. Octopus on the Raidence was her favorite crew member and we will be sailing on that ship again in March.

Voyager is a great ship for kids of all ages. Tons to do!!! Crew is great with the kids...younger ones on the wall are given so much encouragement and the crew I've seen have been very patient with them as well.

DD loves Adventure Ocean and has since she was 7...she was on Carnival when she was even younger.

Go for it!!!

They LOVED it. It is a great ship for families (all Voyager class ships are). We have always gotten two adjoining cabins when we cruise. One time we lucked out on the Navigator and got a balcony that connected with inside cabin (it was "inside" because it had no window). Then we got two promenade's that connected. We just sailed last week and for the first time we just got one room. While it was totally fine, we probably will stick to 2 rooms.

You're kids will love it.

Have fun!
