It's Official - Voyager to Bermuda in 2005

Recommended Posts

It should be a 7 day cruise. It's not long enough We sailed last month and we did a six day and it wasn't enough time. We arrived at 1p.m. sunday and left at 4p.m. on monday. I would love to go back to Bermuda. It's absolutly gorgeous there.

Well, I suppose this is interesting. Face it RCCL has a lock on Burmuda (3 of the 4 ships there regularly midweek are either RCCL or Celebrity) and they know that they will get alot more money from a 5 day cruise to Burmuda than a 5 day to Canada. Voyager can only go to Kings Warf since neither of the other ports can handle large ships, so it's off to the side at least. At least Voyager is the great ship for the day and 1/2 needed to get there (and back)

I believe the ship will alternate with its 9-night Caribbean intinerary, so a back-to-back would be 14 days. Which I am actually thinking about!

The Grandeur is also going to be doing this itinerary...maybe they will only do Bermuda so one can do a back to back on there.......

Now if only they would come out with the prices....

Hate to see those prices....Prices are high enough already for Voyager of the Seas to the Caribbean and Canada. But I'm sure people in the New York area will still pay those crazy high prices and fill the ship anyway.

Wish I owned a cruiseline.

Wow- that's even more of a reason to go. I can't wait to see Bermuda someday. Maybe next year on the Voyager
By the way, does the sand really look that pink in person?

I have heard chatter that she is planned to go bye bye, but to take a sucessful 8 night to a 5?

While I have been an advocate of a new ship to Bermuda, guess what, I'd take the 8 night on the older ship.

5 nights is just way to short for a cruise vacation for me.

Five nights is perfect for our annual getaway without the kids - I'm ready to pack my bags (and, gee, I thought I would have to go all the way to Baltimore for this one...).

JIMBO- We must have timed it right as we sail on Voyager in June to Canada 5 days and we only paid $320 per person ( inside ) including port and all taxes. I thought this was pretty cheap actually.

Five days are fine if it's your third or fourth cruise for the year but not enough at all if you can only take one.

Did they change the sand since I went in '01? It was pink then. I even brought some back for others to see.

I think 5 nights is a joke of sorts. If they schedule it the same way they have it this year you will still have to take a complete week off from work to do the 5 nights. I would rather do an 8 night on the Empress.

We went to Bermuda in 02 on the old Pacific Princess. the beaches are gorgeous but not really pink though you do find salt sized bits of coral in the sand. If you want the really "pink" sand you have to buy it in the souvenior shops.

We did all 3 stops as the old Pacfic Princess was a small ship. I loved St. George and Hamilton much better then King's Warf. One thing though there is a ferry that will take you to Hamilton and St. George and it is much less expensive then a taxi. It is like $4.50 each way or you can get a 3 day bus pass for around $25 which is good for the ferry too.

The nicest beaches were closest to Hamilton. So if you take the ferry there and then get a taxi it is like $18 round trip for the taxi alone. But you could also take the ferry there and then take a bus to the beaches.

Having cruised to Bermuda on 7 nighters "many" times, my dream was a 10 nighter...Well, the Empress is giving me an 8 night!!...Yahoo! Would be nice to experience the hugeness of the Voyager...but 1 day in Bermuda...Eeeeeek !! The only benefit, I see, is the Voyager would let people, who have not been there, see what they're missing!!

I can't wait for the prices to come out. We have always wanted to go to Bermuda, but didn't want to go on a small ship. I am very excited!!
