ahornb Posted March 7, 2010 #152 Share Posted March 7, 2010 (edited) Deck - 17 Cabin # - 1720 Class – Sky Loft Front Starboard, Front Port, Back Starboard, Back Port, Central Park, or Boardwalk - Corner, Port, Crown, aft elevators Bed near?(balcony or bath) – N/A Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – Some noise from flowrider on balcony, but complete silence in the suite when balcony doors are closed. Connects to #1718 Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions or privacy was an issue– Spectacular views of aft, port and starboard. Be sure to watch the sun rise and set into the ocean! Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - GINORMOUS!!! Was wind a problem? No Any specific problems with this cabin? Really no complaints Any other comments? Love that this loft has a window upstairs. A little cramped upstairs, but you get used to it quickly and by Day #2, it really doesn't bother you. I recommend using decks 15 or 16 for crossing to the forward part of the ship when leaving the suite. I tried my best to see inside our suite from the sports deck and really couldn't when the sheers were drawn. Dusty Traveler Posted March 18, 2010 #165 Share Posted March 18, 2010 Deck - 8 Cabin # - 8196 Class – D1 Front Starboard, Front Port, Back Starboard, Back Port, Central Park, or Boardwalk - Midship, port, hump Bed near?(balcony or bath) – bath. Only <2 feet clearance between bed and closet if configured as a twin bed. We moved the two beds together, moved the night table to the closet side and gained some much-needed access to the closet. Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – Very quiet, not connecting. Did hear occasional noise from adjoining cabins (doors closing, toilet fushing) and the odd running child in the hallways. Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions or privacy was an issue– No obstructions. Port side gave view of water on all the ports (St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Nassau and Fort Lauderdale) Peaceful views and high up enough to not worry about excessive salt spray. Privacy was fair, as the balcony is in the hump, making you more visible to those above and to the sides. Smoking was sometimes an issue while sitting on the balcony. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Oversized, with standard table and 2 chairs. Table is eating height, and a lovely spot for room service breakfast or afternoon tea/coffee. I also requested and recevied a lounge chair, for which there was plenty of room. I also used the indoor TV table outside on the balcony for coffee next to the lounger -- besides it makes more room inside the cabin! Was wind a problem? No, though you do need to have the balcony door closed if you open the cabin door, or everything gets swept out into the hallway! A great way to air out the room though! ;-) Any specific problems with this cabin? Storage was a bit tight. Closet space limited. 4 cubby shelves, with the safe taking up the 5th. Hangers are "normal" and can be taken out of the closet without having to re-attach them to the rod bracket. The desk drawers were too small to be of use for much more than underwear and socks, and the cupboard shevles were useless. For a week's cruise, fine, but more than that, not. Barely enough room for 2 people's clothing, so pack wisely! Any other comments? Location was a bit of a walk to the elevator/stairs. One aft and one forward, but I would choose this location again. On the whole, after having been on the ship, and seen all the "neat things", I felt a bit let down by all the hype. Sure, it's a big ship, and has some nice new features, but would not sail on the "Oasis" again. Too many people, too many repeated activities, too many reservations to make, and really, too much money for what you actually get.

internetwhiz Posted March 23, 2010 #167 Share Posted March 23, 2010 (edited) Deck - 9 Cabin # - 9190 Class – D5 Superior Ocean View Balcony Bed near?(balcony or bath) – Balcony Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – Very Quiet Balcony View - Good view, especially toward the front of the ship Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Angled edge of hump. Added to balcony space Was wind a problem? No Any specific problems with this cabin? No, it was fine--just that you need an extension cord to charge/plug in. One outlet in the cabin is not enough. Any other comments? Great cabin. Just a long walk to everything on the aft end of the ship, but we needed to walk after all the food we ate. Oasis was everything we hoped it would be and more. The shows are amazing, and we loved the Park Cafe and Solarium Bistro, free for breakfast and lunch. We only went in the Windjammer twice the whole trip. Would definitely sail on this ship or Allure again. We rented the Wow iPhones from the ship and loved them. Get on board early, and go get them immediately. They were all rented out in an hour the day we got on the ship. Date of cruise: March 13-20, 2010 Edited March 23, 2010 by internetwhiz

Puppymomma Posted March 24, 2010 #169 Share Posted March 24, 2010 Deck - 6 Cabin # - 6244 Class – JS Bed near?(balcony or bath) – Bath Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – I was worried about this cabin because it's right behind the Schooner Bar, but we heard NO noise all week. It does have a connecting door, but I would never have guessed there was anyone on the other side. Balcony View - Great--on a hump Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? I guess. It was our first JS--I was happy. Was wind a problem? No Any specific problems with this cabin? No, it was fine--the electrical outlets are under the desk, so hard to get to. Any other comments? Great cabin. Convenient to Boardwalk, elevators, just 2 flights of stairs from our dining room on 4. Close to Schooner Bar and Royal Promenade. kk99 Posted March 24, 2010 Author #170 Share Posted March 24, 2010 Hi everyone, Here's the updated list. http://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pi...lZjYwNzU&pli=1 or if you can't open it click on the Oasis cabin attachment here http://sites.google.com/site/oasiscruisers/Home I really appreciate everyone's efforts who have taken the time to post. If you've cruised Oasis and haven't listed your cabin information, please take a few minutes and add to the list. If your future cabin isn't on the list, please be patient,as hopefully past cruisers will take the time to contribute. There have been very few cabins that people actually disliked due to noise or location. It's been very educational for me and I hope helpful to others. Diva Onboard Posted March 25, 2010 #171 Share Posted March 25, 2010 Deck - 8 Cabin # - 8592 Class – D1 Front Starboard, Front Port, Back Starboard, Back Port, Central Park, or Boardwalk - Midship Port Bed near?(balcony or bath) – Bath You loose a bit of space in this cabin - there is a section that juts out about two feet from mid cabin to the balcony doors. This is why the beds are by the closet as they won't fit by the balcony door area in length. It is really a tight fit with only a foot or so by the closet. Someone on our sailing said that every other room is like that - but I don't know that for a fact. I do know that in Cabin 8594 the bed was by the balcony because our friends had that cabin. Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – This was a nice, quiet cabin. Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions or privacy was an issue– There were no obstructions - we had wonderful views. This cabin was on the "hump" midship. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - A bit oversized with a small round table and two chairs. Was wind a problem? No. Wind on the balcony was not a problem. Any specific problems with this cabin? Limited closet access due to the beds being by the bath room and fewer shelves than we are used to on the Radiance class. We missed the pull out arm from the desk - the writing arm - found on all the other ships. Any other comments? We loved the ship. But beware, you need to make reservations for all your entertainment, which we did prior to sailing. I cannot imagine how time consuming it would be to have to decide what and when you were going to see a show when you first boarded the ship. Another note - we found out the hard way that you need to "lock" your balcony door. One day we were literally sweating in our cabin while getting ready for dinner. We thought it was because the sun was overpowering in our cabin (which it was) - so we called the maintenance department to come up and check the thermostat. They called us back and said the engineers informed them that our balcony door was not locked. We argued and said it was, because the balcony door was closed. I guess there is some computer sensor that can tell when the handle is actually "locked" after the door is shut. If it remains in the unlocked position for any length of time, the air turns off in the cabin. It is important to actually lock the balcony door when you return to your cabin and not just close the door. About two minutes after we "locked" the door, the air kicked on. Amazing.
