x2tpd Posted November 25, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 25, 2009 Anyone find that people are more dressed up on the holiday cruises? My husband is trying to decide if a tux is going to be needed or if he would good with a nice suit? We have cruised a bunch before so I know what is customary... Just wanted to know SPECIFICALLY about the holiday cruise clothes?

Just wanted to know SPECIFICALLY about the holiday cruise clothes? We were on a cruise during Christmas and loved it!!!! Good for you! More dressed up? Not especially..but we did see some Christmasey themed outfits. But, as they say NCL is freestyle and you do what you want!!! Most 0f all, enjoy it and Merry Christmas early!:D
bluesea777 Posted November 26, 2009 #3 Share Posted November 26, 2009 Been on 2 Xmas and going on 3rd Xmas cruise with NCL. People like to go overboard with nice attire on Xmas day but the tuxedos, suits and jackets are optional. Me - I'm a lady who doesn't wear dresses - but I make an effort to wear extra special on Xmas day - black slacks and nice top. My DH and DS dislike suits and jackets, but they wear dark slacks and nice shirt.

Like I said I seen some Christmasey outfits but over all I would not say it was overboard. I wore what I typically wear to the dining room. (skirt and top). NOT formal and so did hubby. But, all in all. do what you want!!!! :D No one really notices or cares what others wear!! If do they, so what! Mainly enjoy that cruise! I love crusing on Christmas

garycarla Posted November 26, 2009 #7 Share Posted November 26, 2009 Went on Christmas cruise last year and by and large more people DID dress up on Christmas day/night. Dress up nice? Dress up sport coat? Dress up suits? Dress up tuxes? Dress up is a vague term.
ramidon1 Posted November 26, 2009 #8 Share Posted November 26, 2009 My husband likes to dress up & so do I...he plans to bring his tux, but that's because he WANTS to; we may be the only "formal" ones, but that's ok. Going on the Pearl xmas week...

Going on the Pearl xmas week... I am sure you two will look great. Good attitude! I always appreciate a smartly dressed couple on the ship. But I don't hold it against those who choose to "not" and dress resort casual. Have fun.
