reganshamrock Posted December 9, 2009 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2009 I have read many conflicting reports about smoking in the casino on the Summit. Some have said - it is absolutely smoke free. Others have said there is a small section in the slot machine area that smoking is allowed. Anyone just off the Summit that spent time in the casino that can tell me first hand? Thanks! kitty9 Posted December 9, 2009 #2 Share Posted December 9, 2009 It used to be, when they were experimenting with the smoking policy, that there was one area of slot machines on the port side where you could smoke. But now, with their smoking policy fully functioning, there is no smoking throughout the Summit casino, and it's the same for every X ship. pspercy Posted December 10, 2009 #4 Share Posted December 10, 2009 From their website: What is your onboard smoking policy? Subject: Ship and Stateroom Details For all Celebrity ships, smoking is not permitted inside any stateroom or on any stateroom veranda. Cigarette smoking will only be permitted in designated indoor and outdoor areas of the ship, while cigar and pipe smoking will only be permitted in designated outdoor areas. Smoking will not be permitted in any dining venue, casino, theater, hallway, elevator or corridor. Violations to this smoking policy will result in a $250 cleaning fee being charged to the guest's onboard account and may also be addressed through Celebrity Cruises' Guest Conduct Policy. Cigarettes, cigars and pipe tobacco must be properly disposed of and never thrown overboard. A guest must be at least 18 years of age to purchase, possess or use tobacco onboard. Additionally, there is a non-smoking policy on all components of the land tour portion of all Celebrity Cruises cruisetour products. We appreciate your understanding and adherence. bigedwin Posted February 6, 2010 #5 Share Posted February 6, 2010 Thanks for the Info. Very Nice. Hate going to casino and leaving smelling like an Ashtray. Ed
Ozzmund Posted February 6, 2010 #6 Share Posted February 6, 2010 What is stated on the Celebrity website is 100% accurate. I just returned (1/30) from a trip on the Summit and did spend some time in the casino. I can tell you that the craps table and the black jack tables were smoke free. While I am not a slots player, we did walk by the machines fairly often and there was no smoking going on there as well.
anniversay/grad trip Posted February 6, 2010 #7 Share Posted February 6, 2010 sailed on the Summit this past August...I am a smoker and I can tell you that the casino is completely smoke free...however, if you are a smoker just outside the casino doors past the internet cafe there is a door leading outside that is usually pretty full with "our kind"
queenL Posted February 6, 2010 #8 Share Posted February 6, 2010 Wow! That is great, I might actually spend time in the casino.

anniversay/grad trip Posted February 7, 2010 #10 Share Posted February 7, 2010 I love you (our kind) LOL;) Ha ha...yes "our kind" is a dying breed..lol....I am not naive to the affects of smoking (I really wish I had the wilpower to quit) but, a drunk on board (and there are alot of them) seem to get a pass. But, if you're a smoker, you are somehow made to feel like a leper....Give us a few indoor venues and an area and I'm happy...they used to always have a non-smoking night in the casino (I think it was formal nights) yet now that it is the opposite, they are not rushing to provide a smoking night....it's just nice to sit and have one in piece, with a drink...no such thing these days. Although I am sympathetic to those that do not smoke...my DH being one of "those people" LOL....
