Immigration at St Thomas

We are sailing the eastern intinerary on the Dream in October. The first stop is Nassau. Will we be required to report to immigration prior to disembarking in St. Thomas. Been there done it before but don't remember. I can blame it on old age.

In Jan. 2008, I cruised to Samana before going to St. Thomas and we had to go through immigration before anyone could leave the ship. All we had to do was show our passports to the official and they gave us a slip of paper stating that we had cleared immigration. It took less than 20 minutes. There was a separate line for non-US citizens, so I don't know how it went for them. Have a great trip!

It's no longer required. Just like any other port now. We had to go through it in 2008 on the Liberty, but not in January 2009 on the Glory. Both times we had visited a foreign port first - we were told by the cruise staff that it was no longer required as of 2009.
