Marriott Miami Airport

I was unsuccesful on Priceline with a Downtown Miami hotel, so I ended up with the Marriott Miami Airport for $60 on March 20. Has anyone stayed here? Is there anything to do in that area? Any good restaurants? I was reading about the 94 Aero Squadron Restaurant, looked kind of interesting. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

94th is a fun, but not cheap dining option; you can check the menu out on-line. There are several other hotels in that area, which was safe and quiet when we were there last spring. A local mall with grocery, liquor store:D, drug store, Starbucks and several dining and fast food options is a 5-10 minute walk away - or perhaps the Marriott would shuttle you. Besides Burger king there was a chines place, fancy Italian (looked good!), and Casa Juan which was our choice for inexpensive Cuban food - I loved it! $60 is a great price for the hotel - Good luck!:)

Hey TerB, I'm lookin at possibly stayin Marriott Miami Airport as well, as it seems to be a cheaper option. Do you know if there is a free shuttle from airport to hotel? How do you plan on getting to POM? taxi or shuttle? Just curious. :)

I enjoy the 94th Aero Squadron. You are going to need taxis to go anywhere.

I stayed at the Miami Airport Marriott last weekend and found it to be a very comfortable hotel in an area where there are quite a few restaurants, as mentioned above. Several of the restaurants are within walking distance. I liked the second Cuban restaurant out of the hotel to the left. There are also several convenience stores in the area.
