Make your way to a theme park or something, you do NOT want to do much in San Pedro other then the maritime museum right near the ship there really is not much around and it is not a great area to hang around in. If your cruiseline offers an excursion for LA when you return you might try that, they take you whereever and you end up at the airport they also take your luggage. andreadan Posted January 21, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 21, 2010 You won't have too much time to sightsee. Since your flight is at 7:30 pm you will have to leave for the airport by 5:00 pm. Depending on when you disembark, that leaves you only about six hours. So here are my local suggestions: Visit the Los Angeles Martime Museum near the pier; have a late lunch at one of the restaurants/cafes in the area; do a wine tasting at Off the Vine on 6th St.; and watch the football playoffs in a local sports bar. That would be a relaxing end to a cruise. Depending where you are flying to, you might find that the predicted weather here on Sunday might suit you (sunny and 64) to visit one of the oldest lighthouses on the West Coast, at beautiful Point Fermin Park. Or if you have any WWII history nuts, you can visit the Fort MacArthur Military Museum or the SS Lane Victory.

Pumbaamd Posted January 22, 2010 #7 Share Posted January 22, 2010 If you do a ship's tour post-cruise, your bags get loaded on the tour bus. The last stop on the tour is the airport. The luggage valet program should be available on Mariner. That will make things even easier. We will use it on our 2/14 Mariner cruise! Enjoy your cruise! Jiffymom Posted January 22, 2010 #9 Share Posted January 22, 2010 You should prebook the LA tour
andreadan Posted January 22, 2010 #10 Share Posted January 22, 2010 Replace "football" with "basketball" in my earlier post.
Colorado Kat Posted January 24, 2010 #11 Share Posted January 24, 2010 The luggage valet service is great, but it doesn't work with SouthWest. I hope your airline qualifies. (This is in addition to anything your airline charges, but worth it, in my opinion.)
