I hope I copied and pasted correctly so you can read the full review. I origionally wrote a long review, later on added pictures then pulled them but I have alot of people who still didn't see the pictures so I've put up the new link for pictures.

Hope you enjoy.

Some of you remember me from Mark (Falkcors) review that was so detailed but no one knows where Mark is as he never finished his review.

Wow... I had requests to put this back up and I'm surprised no ones commented... I see a lot of lurkers looking.

Anybody out there ?????????????

I have checked out your pics. They are great and have me looking forward to our trip next January. I think we are going to fo the Sheraton in Nassau and I am thinking about the Radisson in Freeport. (I think that was the hotel you mentioned). How did that work with transportation? We have 5 in our family. Did you feel like you had enough time? We only in Freeport for 7 hours and I do not want to worry about missing the ship.

Carrie, I do remember you from Mark's review. I'm recently found it and am taking my time reading it, as of today I have 30 pages left. I can't believe he didn't finish!! It was excellent! I will finish it but I have to say I am dissappointed. Matter of fact today I read where you returned from your cruise! I'm looking forward to your review & will start it tonight.

Leaving aboard the Pride in just about 100 days, 5-9-10. Myself, husband and 2 daughters ages 7 & 5. It's our first "real" vacation in a very long time. Trying nowto figure out how to spend our days in Nassua & Freeport....

You'll wish you had more time in freeport once your at the resorts.. We really had a great day there.

We took a van outside the ship. Very convenient, very personable and very professional. He picked us back up based on the time our group picked out.

I think we were picked up at 12:30 to be driven back to pier and we shopped a bit outside there to kill time before boarding so we did have plenty of time.

Did you arrange for the van in advance? If you do not mind me asking, how much was the van? I know there will be at least 5 of us and if my parents join us that makes 7. How many do the vans hold? Sorry for asking so many questions. We checked out the excursions through Carnival and they do not jump out at us as anything great. We're just looking for a nice, relatively inexpensive beach day. Thanks!

If I remember correctly (I know the price is somewhere in my review) it was $20.00 for the both of us rount trip. 9 people fit in the vans and we did not reserve in advance. It's like a taxi service but a full sized van.

It's NOT at all confusing once you get off the ship. They have it arranged beautifully and very organized. There are people asking where your going and you just tell them "Our Lucaya Resorts". The van drops you off in the casino parking lot and picks you up there. The beaches are behind the casino while shopping is directly across the street. You cannot go wrong by going here. My only regret was that there wasn't enough time as we enjoyed it that much.

I hope you will as well.

Carrie,

Thank you for re-posting. I loved your pictures and you have convinced me to make Our Lucaya our beach day. We are on the Pride this April. I am still undecided about Nassau. I think we'll get a ride to Ardastra so that we can see the flamingo show (who would've thought you could train flamingos?!), but I'm not sure after that. I'm not much on city life, so Cable Beach could be a winner. Is there a casino there that you noticed? Thanks for taking all this time - twice! - Barbara

Hi Barbara,

Yes in Cable beach there is a casino and I think it was the wyndham which was right next store to the Sheraton where we spent the day. I'm sure it'll be less crowded than the casino at Atlantis.

I'm so glad you're going to Our Lucaya for your beach day. You can't go wrong there. Please let me know you're thoughts when you return. I know everyone has different opinions and thats why I took so many freeport pictures . I had read so many negatives on that little Island and in all honesty we really wish we had a LONGER day there , we could have done without port canaveral . I think we've all been there/done that one ?

Lord knows we have :-)

April will be here before you know it and you'll be writing your review , I hope ?

Have a great weekend !

Carrie

Hi Carrie,

Read both Mark's review and yours earlier. Thanks for taking the time. I love hearing about people's experiences - makes it seem like I'm there already!

We're actually doing Deadman's Reef in Freeport (March), but I loved your pictures...Good to know we have a great plan B if we need it!

Thank you, Carrie. I'm not much of a photographer like you and Mark, but I'll leave some comments after the trip, just because I know how much I have loved reading other people's reviews. Since there is a casino there, we'll probably spend some time at Cable Beach, too. My DH will be happy.

I read yours and Mark's and wanted to thank you for posting your review and photos. I'm in the early stages of planning our frirst cruise, in spring 2011, with my husband and son, who will be 3 at the time, and was having trouble figuring out what to do in Freeport with a toddler since my last trip there was in college. Our Lucaya sounds great for us!

I'm so glad the review was helpful to you. Have a great day at deadmans reef. If you need the plan B it won't be a bad thing at all.

I wonder what ever happened to Mark ? He was all into his review and answering everyones questions in detail and Poof... He's gone.

We should start a new thread on his whereabouts...

My thoughts are with those leaving on the pride this coming sunday. We're expecting one heck of a snow storm. Just think.. It'll be a mess getting there but once your on that beautiful ship getting ready to sail to the Bahamas with a tropical drink in hand you'll forget all about whats going through your minds right now... I hope everyone makes it safely to the port and back..
