Jimnbigd Posted February 25, 2010 #303 Share Posted February 25, 2010 One solution to the issue. Create a smoking lounge on each deck (or every other deck) just like airports have. Unfornutately for me and other non-smokers, this will never happen. Space is too much at a premium on a cruise ship. That's why we sleep in cabins smaller than some home's bathrooms. :D
Jimnbigd Posted February 25, 2010 #304 Share Posted February 25, 2010 but a smoker is more likely to partake in those behaviors. The non-smoker is more likely to partake in a healthy lifestyle of eating healthy and exercising regularly including walking and riding bikes, and using less perfume.:cj Healthy lifestyle? DPHStAug Posted February 25, 2010 #306 Share Posted February 25, 2010 In any enclosed, indoor lounge/ bar/ casino/ whatever -YES In designated on deck, outdoor areas- NO Same rules that apply in the real world (in most states in the US- you go outside to smoke). S10Catman Posted February 25, 2010 #307 Share Posted February 25, 2010 so you are admitting that smoking causes fires? Smoking doesn't cause fires, careless smokers causes fires. marci22 Posted February 25, 2010 #310 Share Posted February 25, 2010 Well if there are current smokers reading this thread who are looking for a sign, here it is! You can quit, you can do it! I have posted an earlier link, but google anything you can find and make it your job to stop today. Nicotine is extremely addictive and I feel for those who cannot give up such an expensive and unfortunate addiction. If one person even tries to give up smoking it is worth reading all the nonsense spewed by posters like the Catman, who are trying to set back health care views by about 50 years. I realize smokers get funny about their rights because like anyone with a true addiction, it is multifaceted and not a simple thing to face losing. The prospect is truly scary. So don't delay, quit today!!:):):)

krisko Posted February 25, 2010 #312 Share Posted February 25, 2010 I liked how RCI did it on my Mariner cruise recently. There are no-smoking bars and smoking bars. Smoking is allowed in the casino but there were at least 2 no-smoking nights. I enjoyed a cigar at the conniseurs club one night and a non-smoking environment otherwise. Jimsedge Posted February 25, 2010 #319 Share Posted February 25, 2010 just add balconies to the no smoking zone and their policy would be acceptable To you and many other non-smokers, nut not to us smokers. If done in a considerate manner, smoking on a balcony should not be an issue. There are ways to do it without affecting neighbors. And smokers should have the same right to enjoy their cruises as non-smokers as long as they follow the rules of the cruise ship.
