Venice airport transportation

We are on the Azmara Barcelona to Venice Cruise April 25th and will be spending a few days in Venice after the cruise. We have an early(0840) flight home and I am a little confused about how to get to the airport in time to check in and clear security. After, from my research so far I am a little confused about Venice transportation in general. Ny suggestions would be much appreciated.

Where are you staying in venice? The answer to your question depends a bit on where you are and whether or not you are ready to pay a little extra to get to the airport quickly i.e. 30 minutes.
