beach gramma Posted February 28, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 28, 2010 Our second cruise and first on the Dawn-- what's your can't miss spot on the Dawn? Can you tell I am getting excited--we leave three weeks from today and just looking for some extra tidbits? Anyone have any recent reviews on the Dawn's 5 day western caribbean cruise? family cruisers Posted February 28, 2010 #5 Share Posted February 28, 2010 The Blue Lagoon. Great hot breakfasts and no waiting in lines, awesome wings, soups etc....
fin Posted February 28, 2010 #6 Share Posted February 28, 2010 I sort of stumbled on a quiet place by accident. Outside one of the elevator banks in the aft, about deck ten, there were floor to ceiling windows, two huge chairs and a potted palm between them. Excellent lighting and almost total quiet for much of the mid day.
Darthdaddy Posted February 28, 2010 #7 Share Posted February 28, 2010 Our favorite spot on the Dawn was wherever Josie & Patti were playing. Sometimes it was Spinnaker Lounge, sometimes it was Dazzles, one night it was poolside. We also enjoyed the area farthest forward for sunning. It had minimal noise and children. With young kids (under-6?) we would have spent a lot of time at the kids water play area at the very back of the ship. Finally, we enjoy the promenade deck (not sure what number). It's fairly well protected from wind and is a pleasant walk. We even stop and play the odd (very odd) game of shuffle board. Now, if only NCL would add CURLING, we'd really have something! I'm confident you will enjoy the Dawn. Seriously, the entertainment is wonderful...especially the non-production show stuff.

courageteaches Posted February 28, 2010 #11 Share Posted February 28, 2010 I second the promenade deck. We had an inside room (8153) and we used this deck to get everywhere (great way to get to one end of the ship to the other) and we could often find a chair to sit by the rail and enjoy the breeze, the shade and the sights. It was also more peaceful than the sunbathers with the music on the pool deck. No bartenders here but you can buy a coffee or a drink just inside. We took some great pictures leaving Tortola. Have fun, we will be on the sky in 3 weeks, we don't expect it to be the Dawn but we are sold on NCL. :)

Anywhere Jose and Patti are...please do NOT miss them--other than that, we love Bimini Bar, Le Bistro, and find it fun to dine in the Tex Mex for the location--especially when the trio is playing. Unfortunately, you are missing Bernie Martini, who will be back in April. Have a wonderful cruise on our favorite ship with the most incredible crew...you will love them.
