helicopter Posted March 8, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted March 8, 2010 which route would you take? We are going on the Triumph in June and I am not sure if we should take I45 to I10 and over to NO or Shreveport down.
okgirl Posted March 8, 2010 #6 Share Posted March 8, 2010 which route would you take? We are going on the Triumph in June and I am not sure if we should take I45 to I10 and over to NO or Shreveport down. If I were going to drive I'd go Shreveport then down, but Southwest has getaway fares for $84 each way in May and maybe even cheaper in June. I always go down a day early because I wouldn't want to get up and hit the road no later than 5am to get there by 1ish, and that's just too late to be getting on the ship, plus being worn out by the time I got there and stressed out that there wouldn't be any car problems along the way. firefly333 Posted March 9, 2010 #10 Share Posted March 9, 2010 OP here is your other thread ... I think because everyone agreed with how Id go is why more didnt post how they would go. This thread will probably be moved down where your other thread is. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1155904

helicopter Posted March 9, 2010 Author #13 Share Posted March 9, 2010 Thanks for you help everyone. I must have calculated the miles wrong, it was almost a hundred miles further going 45 to 10 to NO. My husband is just concerned about the Houston traffic (thinks that could be a real hold up).

That way you miss Houston entirely.

Take it south and you save a lot of time and cut some miles out getting to I-49.

True, it's about 10 miles before you hit the casinos. You really don't want to get lost in the outskirts of New Orleans though, just follow the signs for the Quarter. Everything is easy to find once you make it there.
