Hampton Inn to Hard Rock

You can walk it if you want. It is right by Horton Plaza, so about 10 blocks from your hotel. Personally I don't get the attraction of going to Hard Rock Cafe's since they are all pretty much the same, but whatever floats your boat! Lots of better places to eat in San Diego.

A taxi will cost you about the same as a Trolley, depending on how many are in your party. You need to be on the Orange Line. Get off at the closest stop to 4th Ave (3rd Ave as I remember). and walk south along 4th from there. I believe an all-day pass is still $5/person, which would allow you to go to both the Gaslamp Quarter (where the San Diego Hardrock is located) and Old Town, which is also worth a visit.

5 agree with Splinter. Why would you go to San Diego and eat at Hard Rock Cafe? Nothing against them but there are a lot of great places to eat in town!

Sorry, can't type today, meant to say 100% agree etc.;)

I didn't say we were eating there, but one of our fellow cruisers collects t-shirts from there so we are going to pick up one.

I thought that we could get a day pass for the trolley but wasn't sure how much it would be so $5.00 sounds like a good way to see some of the town. We get in at !:30 on a sunday, does the trolley run into the night. There are four of us.
