Carnival or Royal Caribbean?

My DH and I are wanting to take my in-laws and our 2 boys (ages 3 & 6) on a cruise. We have been on both Royal Caribbean and Carnival and are trying to decide which one would be better for the kids and in-laws first cruise. My Dh wants RC b/c of the bigger ships and kids water play areas but I want Carnival for the movie screen on deck, self-serve laundromats and having slightly bigger rooms (oceanview). I also think that Carnival has more to offer in their kids play areas.

We will be probably going on the Eastern Caribbean itinerary.

Which do you think?

Hi, you found us. :D

Did you have an idea of which class of ship you wanted to do. You mentioned the "Bigger Ships of Royal Caribbean" -- so that means something like Freedom class -- which would have onboard for the kids...

--fresh water pools

--H20 zone (pictured below)

--parades through the Promenade

--ice skating rink

--rock climbing wall (the 6 year old would be able to climb)

--Johnny Rockets

--Ben & Jerrys

On the Carnival ships - some of them (possibly 8 so far) have the upgraded Waterworks...pictured here...
