What All Is Covered by Travel Insurance?

I know I need to claim my airfare, cruise, & condo costs, but what else can I get insured? Will travel insurance cover the cost of excursions that we prepay for such as helicoptor tours, snorkeling tours, ziplining tours, & parasailing? I know they may not cover the cost of any accidents that we incur on these tours, but will it reimburse for the costs if we have to cancel prior to leaving?

The costs must be pre-paid and non-refundable. If you have to file a claim you would have to provide receipts showing when you paid the costs, it must state they are non-refundable, and it would have to show that the claimed costs are for an activity/event that occurs within your trip dates.

Your total coverage amount should therefore be at least equal to the sum of all such pre-paid non refundable costs.

LBNL, the reason for cancelling must fall under the Covered Reasons for your insurance to pay off.
