Does anyone know if they have automatic shufflers on Carnival or do they hand-deal the cards on 3card? Our last cruise in 2004 on Elation, they did not have the auto shufflers and I won BIG time! The last night of the cruise I took my last $100 that I had put aside for gambling and came back to the room with $1200! :D We are going on the Conquest in May, and was just wondering....

I was on the Conquest on March 21, 10..they hand shuffled the cards I played may be 5 minutes waiting for craps table to open and won $100. That's the only time I played 3 card on that ship, nothing beats craps as CP would attest to that.

YEAH! Thanks for answering! I do play some craps and blackjack too....DH is stuck on the roulette wheel or maybe he may try the poker pro-he likes live Texas hold-em:D

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO layditx1: In the casino stay away from Blackjack. The House has a big edge. Tell DH if he plays Roulette the House has more than a 5% edge no matter what be he makes.

In craps the House edge on the Pass Line bet is 1.43%. House edge on a Don't Pass bet is 1.41%. The odds bet is the only bet in the casino that pays off at true odds. You can make an odds bet on a Pass Line bet, Don't Pass bet, Come bet, or Don't Come bet. When you make an odds bet on a Pass Line or Come bet you lower the house edge to less than 1%. All the bets in the middle of the table the Proposition Bets are sucker bets. They don't pay off at true odds and there are more ways to lose than to win.

Huh? Define big?

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO matt0148: If six decks are used the House has an 11% edge. Almost all casinos however use eight decks dealt out of a shoe and use a CSM. Some people will despute my percentages. I stand by them.

At Craps if you play the Pass Line or make a Come bet the House has only a 1.43% edge. Then when you make your odds bet you bring down the House edge to less than 1%. .80 to be exact.

When you make an odds bet on the Pass Line or on your Come bet those are the only bets in the Casino that actually pays at true odds. And you could look that up.

Where did you ever find such a house edge for Blackjack? I'd say you are about 10% too high.

Also, check the blackjack thread about the use of a CSM and its impact on odds.

I'll take what the wizardofodds.com has to say about the house edge on 21 over someone that does not know how to properly spell hello. Their house edge calculator for a 6 deck shoe where the dealer hits soft 17, you're allowed to double on the first two cards, split aces one time and only get one card on each ace is 0.58294%

Right on. CASINO PLAYER is a bad at giving advice as he is at spelling HELLO. It's obvious he doesn't undertsand BJ.

You are assuming the house pays a blackjack at 3 to 2. Many casinos have quietly switched over to paying 6 to 5 on a black jack. I think that is where the advantage swings to the house in a big way. I think this is where Casino Player is getting his numbers from. Avoid the 6 to 5 blackjack games if possible because they will never go away until people stop playing them.

Nice of you to TRY and help him out, but NO, even on a 6:5 table the house does NOT have an 11% advantage. You still have 2 throws left for your $.25. Want to try again? Or stop while you're behind.

Going from a 3:2 table to a 6:5 table with all other rules the same, the house edge creeps up 1.3% which means for every $100 you gamble, the house keeps an extra $1.30 (on average, based on millions of hands played).

Use this House Edge Calculator to see what the TRU house edge for any set of rules.

Seems like they have a 100% advantage on my tiny bankroll.:D

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO crewsnews: If you have a small bankroll you are better off sticking to playing craps and make Pass Line bets, Come bets, or Don't Pass and Don't Come.

There is a reason why some of the most fabled BJ players are now playing craps.

If you have a tiny bankroll it doesn't matter what game you play, you are looking for "lightning in a bottle". It is pure luck at that point, you just need to take the right seat at the right time. House edge and %'s are based on millions of hands played, if you plan on playing 50 hands then stats are completely useless. Hopefully lady luck is on your side.
