Favorite NCL Ship and Why?

For me hands down the Spirit! Love, Love, Love the open Atrium with the faux windows, and gorgeous glass windows open to the pool deck. Not to mention the gorgeous water fountains! She is one of a kind in the NCL fleet. I like ships with a lil larger atrium Spirit, Dawn, and Star than the two story ones on the Gem, Jewel, and Pearl.

I guess I should have explained my question more in detail. I am not asking which ships make or break a cruise I was asking what ships people enjoy in the NCL fleet and why.

I apologize for the confusion.

This is a tough one...

Best Decor: Norwegian Spirit

Best Crew & Staff: Norwegian Jewel

I can't decide between the two because the Norwegian Jewel has been so great to me every time I've sailed on her and I've spent 25 days on that ship which is the most of any so I guess she'd edge out the Norwegian Spirit. I love the Spirit's decor and can't wait to return to her this May to Bermuda. Might be back on the Jewel though in August so hmm... this is quite the interesting question!! I love them both but I'd give props to the Jewel for having a phenomenal staff and crew! :D Hotel Director John O'Hara is INCREDIBLE and his senior staff, especially Katya (Bar Manager) are just sensational! Spring Break on the Jewel was just PERFECT! I hope NCL can do that again in May! :)

Golly, everytime I cruise I change my mind or almost. I think my favorites are 2.

1-the Sun, I love Las Rambles, and I like the casino. WE have been on her 3 times, never had bad service and the cabins are nice..

2-The Jewel: first ship we were on with Blue Lagoon. We love the silly little things like< "the fish swim forward" so you know what direction you are walking. The casino is nice, the dining rooms, all of them have great decor and the crew is wonderful. Now in less than 4 weeks we will get to board the Pearl, I am expecting it to be the icing on the cake.

Well my favorite was the Majesty, it had an old world cruise style to it, and the most wonderful staff, I truly miss the grand ole lady.

Remaining ships, I must say Jewel, first NCL and love returning to her. My husband got hooked on Blue Lagoon there, and I love the spa. The staff has always been wonderful.

Trying the Star in may, looking forward to it. This will be my first penthouse.

The Majesty will always be special as she was homeported in Boston during the summer months. We would sail her frequently to Bermuda. My favortie lounge on her was the Rendezvous I loved the ceiling in that lounge. She benefited quite well from her refit too!

Add me to the list for the Dawn. I have been on every ship in the fleet except the Star that I have booked for next year when she comes to Tampa.

There are individual things on all the ships I like more about them but on balance the indoor public space and the crew keeps bringing me back to the Dawn. 64 days on this home away from home.

Just to point out everyone's taste is different the Spirit remains my least favorite ship in the fleet. I still have a soft spot for the Sun.

the STAR was our FAV NCL ship just cos we had sailed her many times and it always felt like HOME....we LOVE her quaintness and the character of the Blue Lagoon..-hubbys fav was the popcorn in the Red Lion--big plus for him!! but with her recent "changes" we are just GLAD we KNEW her 'then'!

of the Spirit and the Jewel i would have to say the JEWEL...LOVED the buffet layout/food overall specially the Chicken Cordon Bleu in the MDR--first time for that on an NCL ship and her COLORs and JOHN the HD....FANTASTIC GUY--really makes you feel like YOU are SOMEONE "SPECIAL"!!!

the Spirit i really liked the ASIAN decor and the 'character' of the Blue Lagoon...but maybe the SUN will be our next fav...ANXIOUS to sail on this BRIGHT ship!!

I am torn between the Pearl and Dawn for similar reasons.

Dawn = Hugo

Pearl = Denis Prguda

And like Time2Cruise1 said, I also have a soft spot in my heart for the Sun.

Actually I have one more favorite, she is long gone, but it was my first NCL experience and at the time it was considered a large ship, it even had 2 MDRS;;The Sea which was the Seaward the first time we cruised her. It also happened to be the first cruise for our, then little granddaughters. Now they are grown, married and one has a 3 year old. Boy, I do remember their faces when they boarded that ship and how they loved dressing up on formal nights.

My very favorite NCL ship was the Norway, second, the Majesty and third, the Spirit. :)

We really enjoyed the "In Motion on the Ocean" and all of the organized activities offered. The fitness director on the Norway and the Majesty was Maria. She added so much to our enjoyement or our cruises on those ships.

On even older ships (Sunward and Skyward) we loved the Dive-In program. I learned how to snorkel form the great on-board Dive-In Staff about 25 years ago and have enjoyed snorkeling ever since.

Haven't been on NCL in 4 years, but will be on the 11/20/10 Gem criuse with my DH, DD. DS, their spouses and 2 DGDs. Hope the Gem will become one of our favorite NCL ships. :)

yep, both those programs bring back some memories. I do wish there were more activities on ships like those "good ole days" If there is one thing about cruising that has changed for the worse it is the fewer offered activities. I realize there is a reason, but I do miss them.

We love the Jewel as she was our first repositoning cruise and freestyle was easy on her, but the Sun has the best casino and awesome suite. The Norway our first cruise and by far the most elegant. Star and Pearl have their perks. The Wind was first time in an owners suite, just because of an upgrade. I guess we love them all for each has something different to offer!:D Oh, The Sea was also great because we took her on our first Texaribbean cruise!! They are all favorites!;)
